“Just Brilliant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2014

Stayed two nights in this very welcoming, charming, clean and very hospitable B & B. We arrived late but staff had reserved us a table for evening meal, food was excellent as was service and prices. We had our dog with us which normally makes booking a B&B a bit harder, but not this place, they were so accommodating. Its picturesque location makes it ideal for dog walkers as there is loads of countryside to explore with the dog.

Brilliant sums it up!

This little pub does an excellent bed and breakfast deal. Set in the little hamlet of Clifton it has a thatched roof and a welcoming interior. The rooms are pretty and clean and the bed was very comfortable. There is a reasonably varied menu for evening meals - including several specials - and the food was well-presented and very tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a basic continental, although we could have had full English for an additional cost. At £45 per room per night (for two people) this was exceptional value.

We stopped here for a refreshing drink on a warm weekend afternoon and enjoyed the peaceful garden and general character of this pub - well worth a visit! The inside looked very cosy and the menu looked good shame we had already eaten so we're not hungry.

We stopped one night in this lovely pub but wish we would have more time in this quiet village. The staff were really welcoming and was good to see they work together just like a family. The food was amazing and well presented for a good price. Really impressive dishes on the special board we loved it.

Thank you guys for the great time.Might see you again another time.

Regards Viktor&Sara

Room Tip: Mind your head upstairs in the corridor .

I spent two nights here while visiting family in the area.

My room was gorgeous. It was freshly painted, newly recarpeted and had en suite bathroom that was spacious and very clean. The bed was amazing. I could've slept all day!

The staff were very welcoming and kind. The food is fabulous and I highly recommend having both breakfast and dinner there if you are staying.

I would highly recommend this Inn/Pub to anyone who's looking for a home away from home.

Room Tip: I had room 4 which was beautiful, clean and nicely decorated.

I chose this pub for my birthday meal with family earlier this month. I had never been but a number of those coming had been before, although some years ago when I gather it was under different management. Well, from the start to finish, the evening was excellent. As it was a Tuesday evening, there were a few other couples but we were the largest group as a party of twelve, and the service was prompt and attentive. The ambience was pleasant and the pub is well appointed and cosy, The menu was very attractive and varied- I wanted several different things on it but went for the burger in the end. It was fantastic- big, beautifully tender and well seasoned. The accompanying chips, salad and relishes were great too. In fact, we were all impressed with the quality of the food. It was not overly pricey, either, given the standard of the food. We will definitely be back.

We have eaten here a few times. This is a lovely old rustic stone inn with a thatched roof which is full of character. There is a really good menu and the standard od food and presentation is excellent. The staff are all very friendly. Sunday lunches are excellent.
