“I drive miles to eat here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

Fantastic selection with an equal number of meat and veggie dishes all cooked fresh with great ingredients. I regularly drive across the city to eat here.

“A Pub for "Pub People"...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

Let's begin by saying that this is not a "spit 'n' sawdust" establishment. Whilst it may have a vast selection of real-ales and ciders, including a complete chalkboard style approach to all saleable items - it is a place to come for great service and quality.

The menu is continually updated and is extensive, having great vegetarian food and non-vegetarian food. Another reviewer mentioned that the drinks are beautifully kept - this is very true. Never, have i tried a drink and thought that it tasted funny.

Now, yes there is a rule about mobile phones - it's true. This prevented me from visiting for quite some time - however, it forces you to be social, talk to others. Ever been to a pub with an overly loud drunken fool on his phone behind you shouting at his girlfriend, or, even someone playing music on their phone?? Well this is 100% NOT that place.

OK kids can't be at the pub after 8pm. This is a place for friends and couples to relax - children don't seek refuge from busy lifestyles, do they? If you want a child friendly environment, with crayons and an adventure playground - go to a Toby carvery!

The staff are great, after a couple of visits most of them already remembered me. Students get 20p off per pint of real ale too on Monday-Thursday....

There is a railway line connected to the Victoria Hotel, so there is always a train going by. If your outside you will notice this. If your outside with some great food, company and ale - you won't care.

“This place has everything...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Great selection of well-kept real ales, friendly and helpful staff, excellent menu (including a large range of vegetarian options which was so good it tempted me away from my normal meat-laden diet), comfortable rooms and foot-tapping live music. Will certainly re-visit when seeing family in Beeston in a regular basis.
