“Jai Ma Tara, Jai Ma Kali”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2014

We, a family group of 4, were in Santiniketan for a few days and we visited Tarapith, 60 kms one-way, on a day-trip. We engaged the services of a "Panda" for convenience & time-saving quick "Darshan" by-passing a long queue. If one wishes, one can have a 'Free' Darshan by going in queue. The general temple premises certainly needs to be kept cleaner. This aspect needs to be addressed by the Temple Administration and/or 'Pandas' have a controlling say in the temple matters.

“Joy Maa Tara”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2014 via mobile

Right now, I am writing this from Sonar Bangla Hotel in Tarapith. The hotel is not been maintained since my last visit before 3 years in the old building but the new portion was too good with swimming pool. Here in Tarapith the only reason to come is to visit Tara Maa temple & it's like after visit the temple you mind will be in peace but entering the Temple is quite a bad experience as the entrance is quite small and people are pushing instead of paying extra VIP charges to the Pandas here & I feel the worst driving experience from Kolkata. The road from Kolkata to Panagarh was excellent but the worst part was driving from Darjeeling More to Tarapith. This road is too bad & it's really painful, so I give four star for this in overall experience.

“MORE PRESENCE ON LINE LOW PATIENT IN HOSPITAL”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2014

Maa Tara always giving us blessing but I think we are forcing the general public not to visit the Temple since the Panda's Raj is going there and if U have money for pay more and more then U don's have to stand in the line for Darshan of Maa Tara though you are paying more but you don't forgot it that you are free to watch the God of Maa Tara and at least you can expect one kick from the Panda.
Darshan Fees
General Rs. 30 (No. of Devotees in Line approx 300)
Super General Rs.100 (No. of Devotees in Line approx 150)
Special Rs.200 (No. of Devotees in Line approx 40/50)
Super Special : There is no limit (No. of Devotees in Line - Depends on Panda Raj)

“Maa Tara - The all pervading mother”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

The temple is very ancient near Rampurhat, a distance of about 4 hours from Calcutta by train. On a normal day one can go from Howrah by the early morning train to reach Rampurhat by 1030 am and after about 3 hours in the temple, return by the after noon train at 2pm. Facilities like, food and good toilet are lacking. Go fully prepared with your own food.
But the temple is quite mesmerizing, making you to want to come back again.
