“Delightful B&B that exceeded expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2010

We fully endorse previous comments. The setting, facilities and attention to detail were second to none ensuring that we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Our hosts provided personal assistance with booking meals, travel/sightseeing advice including a delightful tour around the North Yorkshire moors prior to our journey home. We were treated more like friends and would happily return for another stay. The breakfast was truly great!
Rural location, car essential.

“Fabulous Views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2010

We were intending to stay nearer the coast; so glad we didn't as we hit on a brilliant gem of a b&b and found the area with its lovely stone villages a hidden delight. Our hosts were very welcoming and the standard of accomodation was excellent. The dogs were very well-trained and friendly and the views from the house absolutely stunning. Breakfasts were gorgeous and there is a great collection of pubs nearby for a hearty evening meal. We will definitely be going back!

“Very friendly, excellent food and extremely well looked after, lovely house & gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2010

Christopher was extremely helpful with directions. The home was very clean and comfortable with a lovely lounge and beautiful dining room which was delightfully set for breakfast. The food really did live up to it's description on their website. They own two well behaved labradors and a few rather unusual looking cows can be seen grazing on their land. Nothing seemed too much trouble for Christopher. We would definately recommend this to friends and if planning a break to York again would book well in advance.

“Warm and Friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2010

Christopher and Philippa were warm and friendly hosts. The walk across the fields in the golden light of twilight past the church on the hill to the pub for dinner was the quintessential English B & B experience.

“An experience to savour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2010

We were very fortunate to stay at Low Penhowe on our recent visit to the UK. It was the sixth B&B that we stayed in on this particular visit. We booked the accommodation via the internet earlier this year and right from our first contact we were sure that Low Penhowe would not disappoint us. Christopher and Phillipa provided us with a very memorable experience. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated, very clean and the view over the garden and surrounding fields was very relaxing. When we arrived at Low Penhowe we were very warmly welcomed and settled into our room. Christopher assisted us with a dinner reservation at a nearby pub (the meal was excellent) and we enjoyed a very pleasant evening chatting with some locals. Breakfast the next morning was a culinary delight. If you are looking for a relaxing stay in picturesque surroundings with hosts who are eager to meet your needs and have an in depth knowledge of the local area, Low Penhowe is the place for you.
