“Very disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

Just visited the Ram to celebrate my Mothers birthday with the family. Spacious restaurant - nice roomy table - alone, no atmosphere in the area at all. Ordered drinks and food, only to be told that they had run out of new potatoes, so only roast ( re heated ) only one portion of curry available as they had run out of rice ! No mango to go with the one and only curry, no tomato ketchup to accompany the chips. Asked for more gravy to go with the pie - almost finished before they brought it out. Complained to the management, the young lady apologised profusely using the excuse that it was a new menu ? Offered coffee free of charge and discount o the bill. We would rather have had a nice meal and paid for it.
We travelled a long way to try this hotel as it was recommended by a friend, unfortunately we will not be recommending it to any of our friends.

My wife and I have just enjoyed a really good three course meal at The Old Ram and have to say we had a great time, with both the food and the service excellent - not to mention the very pleasant Cumberland beer. Bearing in mind also the very reasonable price, we would have no hesitation recommending this restaurant.

I went to The Old Ram last night for a meal with two friends. We were greeted with a lovely welcome and were very well looked after throughout the whole evening. The wine was lovely and my meal was very tasty, I had the pate and chicken pesto. The surroundings are so warm and pleasant that it helps to create a really nice atmosphere. My friends and I really had a lovely evening and we were very well looked after the whole time by really friendly and welcoming staff. I will be visiting The Old Ram again very soon as it was such a lovely evening.

Can't speak highly enough of this place, lovely welcome on arrival, large, well equipped room, excellent food and breakfast in the morning, huge thanks to staff at this hotel, will definitely be using when working in Norfolk in the future.

I was with a couple of colleagues in Norfolk on business just before Christmas, we were booked into the "Ram"
Room was generous and well appointed, clean and comfy (No road noise but I think I was further back in the hotel, not roadside)
We had several drinks and a couple of snacks through our evening, the staff were very attentive and nice.
Breakfast was cooked fresh to order, very nice.
Def stay again if in Norfolk on business.

Room Tip: If you might be worried abut road noise ask for room "at the back" of the hotel. I think r...
