“Lovely and charming place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2006

It's worth every mile of the - little - detour from the ports or tunnel en route to London. The place is both lively (thanks to the operating farm) and secluded. The huge room, overlooking that perfect english landscape, complete with marvelous garden, view of the local church and rolling pastures, has the decor that you used to dream of when you heard the word "Britain". But it is the welcome you'll get that makes the place so special: tea in the conservatory, in the company of the proprietors (and their dog Charly), and upon departure I was given a map for my next destination. English breakfast at its best, of course. SImply don't rush out !

Stayed at this wonderful bed and breakfast while visiting the UK for a wedding. A beautiful, picturesque area amidst fields and an old churchyard. It was like a step back in time but within minutes of anything you would need in Canterbury, as well as close to Eurostar station (for a Paris daytrip) and many local attractions as well as the British rail to London. Home was clean, breakfasts fantastic and to order, and the rooms were spacious and bright. Now for the cream: Mike and Kathy Wilkinson were by far the best hosts a guest could ask for. Their easy and kind manner made you instantly feel like you were part of their family. They took the time to help us with travel arrangements and planning our daytrips, showed my husband the workings of their vast wheat and canola farm and went the extra mile in generosity and warmth in so many ways. Our days were fun and filled with activities, but knowing we were coming back to Chislet Court in the evenings made them all the more special. Our travelling companions said it best..."if you are not a warm and friendly person, do not stay at this bed and breakfast!!"
