“Delicious food with a cozy and quiet ambiance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

We were first-timers to SXM and we stayed at the Radisson in Anse Marcel. We picked Le Taitu for dinner because of the good reviews on TA and we weren't interested in the heavy French cuisine being served all over Grand Case. We couldn’t have been happier with what we found at this quaint Cajun/Creole restaurant tucked into the Cul-de-Sac. We had such a pleasant dining experience at Le Taitu early in our trip that we went back for our last night. It's just over the hill from the Radisson and a 10euro cab ride but worth it considering the menu prices were lower than the Grand Case and the Anse Marcel restaurants. We had our two best meals at Le Taitu during our entire stay! We appreciated the quiet, intimate atmosphere and felt like we were really visiting the island, not just some tourist hot spot. The owner and the hostess/waitress were pleasant, the dishes were simple and scrumptious and well priced. Try the catfish in the coconut sauce- it's perfectly delicious!

“You won't be disappointed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

This restraurant provides great atmosphere, food and service. This is the true French side of St. Martin experience. The specials are French and Creole selections, priced right. The owner is a true gentleman who will provide you with great tips about the Island. Always a pleasure to eat here.

“Nice, quiet, with a menu in US$”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

One of the issues when eating on the French side of St Martin is knowing exactly what it's going to cost when things are priced in Euros. Some restaurants offer 1$=1€ BUT many hike up the price so when you pay $$$ they get what they want in €€€. Le Taitu is a small straight forward restaurant on the way to Mont Vernon 1 in Cul De Sac. Food is GOOD and the staff are friendly and the menu is printed in English with US$ so there are no surprises when the bill arrives. We recommend it to all our guests

“Good food, great value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

The best thing about this little hidden gem is the terrific value. It serves consistently good food at par with more famous restaurants in Grand case but at a substantially lower price.
The decor is beautiful and romantic. The service is prompt and courteous, although the lone server in the place refused to single out anything to recommend for us, "I recommend everything".
Turned out, everything we tried was, indeed, good but not exceptionally so. Nothing stands out in my memory.
Still, consistently good food at substantially reduced prices ( for St. Martin ) is not something to miss.
