We went on a country music weekend , which was fine. The chalet was ok, clean and warm and the food was acceptable, friendly waiting staff in the restaurant. Do not be late for breakfast, 08:30 on the dot, the same goes for dinner, if you are late you will not be getting any first course. Don't expect the Ritz cos you won't get it. As in everything you get what you pay for.
We were somewhat surprised to have someone attempt to get into our chalet at 08:45 this morning, the door opened but entry could not be made as the wife had wedged a chair behind the door as the yale lock had been disabled for locking from inside. There was no response when the boss asked who it was and the door slammed shut. We were due to check out at 10:00 so if it was cleaners they were a little early. We discovered later that one of our friends had a similar experience when a female cleaner walked in while he was dressing!!
And then, we walked to Reception to drop the keys off, there were three or four staff members milling about, not one said anything like " thank you, hope you enjoyed your stay etc etc" Instead we were blanked. Which kind of annoying a little bit.
Having said that, we had a good weekend though.

Room Tip: We upgraded to a double bedroom chalet for a tenner extra.

we stayed at seacroft for a turkey & tinsel break 29th october to 2nd november.
We had 3 economy chalets no 4,5,6 and we found these to be very comfortable and very warm.
We had 3 meals a day and found them very filling, we did find that if you wanted a omellette or salad you needed to be in the dinning hall very early or you ended up queing for some time.
They put on varied entertainment during the day from quiz's and hoy (we only played hoy once when we found out they charge you £1 participation fee to play that no other holiday park charges)
The evening entertainment was good, started of with dancing and also line dancing and then on to bingo (in which they played line, line, full house x2) i think it should be line/house,line/house,full house x2 which gives more people the chance to win especially as they had the prize money to do so!
On the monday night we had a team welcome show, tuesday night we had nigel boy syer, wednesday night we had a seacroft christmas carol team show with special guest pat nearny (fantastic show), thursday night we had the fantastic joey howard who did a whole 2 hour show (another show not to be missed).
The entertainments team this visit was: simon fay(ents manager),claire norman, russ robinson, philippa brooks and kayley yarmouth.
They have great plans hopefully starting winter 2013 to build a hotel in place of the chalets on seacroft and replace the chalets with caravans/lodges on hemsby beach over the next 10 years (something to look forward to)
Any way come to seacroft and try for yourselfs, yes its basic and good food but still enjoyable.

I had booked a two night stay at this holiday centre for a line dancing break which was organised by a separate organisation from Richardsons. I had not realised though that, as there were two dance halls there was another event going on at the same time which catered for many elderly people on a turkey and tinsel break. The activities were completely separate from the line dancing break. Consequently at meal times there were many queues to line up for the cold buffet and there seemed to be a rule that no-one was able to order their meal from the waiter/waitress until everyone on the table was present. The food, when it arrived was fairly plain but wholesome and reasonably well cooked. I had booked a standard plus chalet which was quite spacious as it had a separate lounge with a put-u-up settee for a third person if needed. There was adequate wardrobe space in both rooms but a distinct lack of mirrors and no dressing table.. There was a small full length mirror in the bedroom but nowhere to do make-up, except the bathroom. I did not find a hair dryer anywhere which is most unusual. The bathroom was quite large with a separate shower cubicle but there were no surfaces for placing toiletries and only a small cupboard underneath the sink for these items. The storage radiators were not very efficient and in fact the one in the bedroom did not work properly and could only be used as a convector heater on a separate switch. I suppose that in the summer time these things would not be so important. The site was built many years ago and it really needs a makeover as it resembles an army barracks, especially as most of the doors to the various buildings are entered from the back when coming from the chalets and it is not very welcoming. I have heard many good reports of this holiday centre but mainly from elderly people so I expect that their holiday would be different from the line dancing breaks. As for the line dancing? It was great!

Room Tip: Standard plus rooms would be recommended.

My wife and I have just returned from a 4 night full board midweek break and I can state it is very good value for money. The entertainment (included) was good and varied and the Comedian JOEY HOWARD on the last night was hilarious, giving a one man performance for almost two hours.
Yes, nowhere is perfect, but Richardsons have got a good formula which works and is obviously supported by its patrons. I have also been to their centre at Mundesley.
Good quality food, lots of choice, good entertainment and a good team running things. Will I return -very probably

Room Tip: We had a room with bath and shower. Lots of hot water and a nice bath is very refreshing

Went to seacroft 22nd to 26th October 1st week of turkey and tinsel. The accomadation we had was economy the only ones they had left, and these are known as sheds by the people that go there and I would say they are the next step up from a tent so don't expect luxury.
After saying that the break was brilliant Great food full board ( most of the people are over 50 and some appeared to be storing up for winter) there was entertainment all day for those that did not want to leave the village, but those that wanted to get out and about there are plenty of places to visit.
The evening entertainment is also aimed at the more mature person reminding them of their younger days but all in all everyone seemed to have a good time, all the staff were brilliant considering there were about 400 people to cater for I wish there was something like this further north.
P.S. you don't have to be scared of dust if you visit.

Just spent a 5-day coach holiday at Seacroft. The standard chalets are in dire need of updating/complete refurbishment. You could feel the springs in the beds, the furniture was in danger of falling over if you leant on it - I tried to move one to make a bedside unit but gave up in case it collapsed. It was odd to find the toilet (minus washbasin) one side and the bath/handbasin the other side of a lobby area. There was no shower over the bath which makes it difficult if you are unable to get into/out of a bath. On the plus side the food was very good, and the entertainment mostly good. Tea making facilities were provided and the milk topped up daily. We were there for a 'Turkey and Tinsel' break and it was amusing to see 60-90 years old people queuing up to receive a gift from 'Santa' as if they were 6-7 year olds! Would I go again? Not until the rooms have been modernised and brought up to standard.

Room Tip: Get an upgrade if possible as I understand these rooms are better.

We were a group of eight on a weekend line dancing break arranged and compered by VWP promotions. An excellent venue with 6 good class country turns performing evenings and daytime for dancing and tuition. Dave Ingold and his team are a credit and provide an overall great entertainment weekend. Seacroft the holiday village appears to be in definite decline and furnishings and facilities generally need a big refurbishment. Beds are cramped and uncomfortable, towels are threadbare, our room which was an upgrade was dirty and my wife spent our first afternoon cleaning the toilet and bathroom. The grounds look in part like an overgrown disused airfield. Room cleaning appears to a thing of the past and during our stay the first cleaner we saw was at our departure. The restaurant was acceptable in terms of food quality and variety but it was obvious there are fewer waiting staff and they each seem to be responsible for service to up to 24 guests. Our waiter was cheerfully busy and provided us with as good a service as possible.Bearing everything in mind we were all convinced the problem is that Richardson Holidays are operating within a price trap in which they feel forced to keep prices low to maintain booking numbers which in consequence lead to enforced deterioration in accommodation.facilities and services. It will be inevitable that prices will have to rise to return to overall improvements and I am convinced regular guests would meet the bill.

Room Tip: The rooms are a hotch potch of shapes and sizes and facilities. If you haven't been before it wi...
