Having viewed the Moorhill House Hotel via the internet, the pictures indicate a nicely decorated and comfortable hotel. How wrong and misleading these pictures really were, upon arrival the first room we were provided keys for had a toilet and shower in what can only be described as the wardrobe and the general condition of the room was so poor it forced me to request an alternative room. Unfortunately, the second was not much better, but it did contain a separate bathroom, oh the luxeries of life?

Our visit was very disappointing the hotel and rooms alike can be described at best tired at worst in desperate need of a complete revamp. Therefore, whilst the service in general was reasonable, certainly not to a high standard as suggested in other reviews (watch out for the additional service charge bringing food one set of stairs to your room, cost £3.00 and the additional charge the hotel forgets inform you of when ordering the Crowne Breakfast mainly for one peice of fried bread) I would recommend anyone looking to book a room at this hotel reads all the reviews, as the staged internet pictures of both the hotel and rooms are not an accurate reflection of the tired condition of this hotel and average service offered

In short I shall not be returning anytime soon

I am sorry to read that you had a disappointing stay at the Moorhill House Hotel. The extra charges for the Room Service and Crown Breakfast are clearly laid out on the menu and in the room information folder, so I am sorry if you missed these. Regarding the room you were allocated, our rooms are priced according to size and facilities, but I am pleased to see the hotel gave you a free upgrade to an Agister room. Our plans for January and February are to refurbish the ground floor in the hotel and any bedrooms that have not already been refurbished, should be completed by the end of the year. Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We appreciate guest feedback as it helps us to monitor our services.

We stayed at the Hotel on November 23/24 had a Crown room which was clean and very comfortable, All staff were extremely polite and helpful and the overall; package made it a good two day break. The hotel had to be good because the weather was appalling.

Room Tip: Reccomend the crown room

It has a remote location at the end of a private driveway. Nice secure parking area. Staff were all very polite and couldn't do enough for us. However, the room was a disappointment, smaller than expected and everything had a thin layer of dust on it. Bathroom had mouldy patches on the ceiling and there was no standing shower facility's use to the sloping ceiling.

The restaurant located at the rear of the hotel was fantastic, the food and service was outstanding.

Overall, our stay was pleasant, but it could have been the short break we had been expecting if the room had been cleaner and better fitted out.

We had booked the Moorhill House Hotel to enjoy a relaxing break after moving house. The Moorhill was everything we were looking for. We arrived on a wet Sunday evening down a winding road dodging horses on the way.... The food was fantastic and the service super friendly.
The pool though on the small side was clean and warm and the sauna after a welcome treat!
We will definately recommend the Moorhill house to our friends and family for the perfect spot in the New Forest and only a short walk into the beautiful village of Burley.

Room Tip: We stayed mid week meaning the hotel was quiet and we got a great room.

we have just got back from a two day stay in this very pleasant hotel. We were greeted by very helpful and friendly staff and this applied to all we met. The food at breakfast and dinner is very good The location is fantastic and very peacefull. the only thing we would say is the double bed is very small and a bit uncomfatable but apart from this would rcommended this hotel to any body and we will make sure we come back again. Once again to all staff thank you for a very nice stay.

Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, couldnt ask for more from the hotel itself.
Quiet location down a windy lane on the edge of Burley, walks straight out onto the heath. Great for the dogs who were also made to feel welcome.
