We have just come back for our Easter break at the Bewick lodge. It was fantastic. Perfect location with wonderful view of the duck lake from the spacious decking. It's beautiful inside and out. Very spacious and well designed. Immaculate and excellently presented. The owners are so welcoming and give a personal touch to a very special stay at this lodge. You certainly wouldn't be disappointed with your stay at this lodge it comes highly recommended. Many thanks to Barbara and mick the owners for your kindness

“Excellent spacious cabin, in peaceful location”

As a family of 6 - with 4 children we couldn't have chosen a better cabin. It was spacious for us all, warm and homely and lovely and clean. It had all the mod cons and being greeted by Barbara on our first night was great, as she showed us everything we needed to know and made us feel very welcome. The children had fun exploring outside the cabin and there was a large grassy area which meant it was safe for them. We were only there for a weekend and hope to return for a longer break!

“Lovely location; peaceful, comfortable, excellent accommodation.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We rented the lodge for a weekend as it was spacious enough for us to take parents and grandchildren. It certainly lived up to our expectations; we were welcomed by Barbara and Mick, who gave us a tour of the lodge and showed us where everything was. We had stayed at the Lakes before so were quite familiar with the facilities, but the accommodation was superior to where we had stayed previously.
As an angler, I was delighted to find that a fishing spot is complimentary with the lodge rental. Although situated on the lake, the rear of the lodge leads onto a substantial grassed area which means that it is safer for children. We had some great fishing and caught a big tench and several good bream.
There were some nice 'treats' left for us, and we found everything in the lodge easy to use. One of our party has limited mobility, but had no problems getting around. We were a few minutes walk from the pub/restaurant as there is a path which means that you don't have to drive out onto the main road so can have a drink. We visited the swimming pool, castle and club so packed a lot into our weekend and would definitely recommend it.

“Idyllic Log Cabin - Home from Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

This was the best Cabin that we have stayed in!

We were welcomed by a bottle of wine and warmed by the log fire and central heating. The cabin is very spacious and Immaculately clean. The lake was clean and easy to access from the cabin just being a few steps away and great to fish with carp, bream and perch being caught. The only bad thing we can say about our break is that it had to come to an end :( but we will most definelty be stopping there again.

Thank you Barabra for letting us use your fabulous cabin you will most definitely be seeing us again :)

“Excellent - home from home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Its a pleasure to do the first review for this lovely accommodation, owned by a lovely couple who couldn't be more helpful.
We stayed here recently for 6 nights with various children from ages 8 to 17.
The accommodation was wonderful, it seems much bigger than the photos show and has everything you need to feel totally at home. We've all been in caravans where the knives are blunt, the cooker is shocking etc etc, here it just like being at home but better.
Good quality furniture, fittings, duvets, beds, sofa etc, all great condition, in lovely peaceful surroundings and all spotless! En-suite was a real bonus.
The lodge is on Duck lake which is quite away from the main camping and noise that is mentioned on reviews of the park. Its like your in another world, very peaceful and definitely in the most tranquil part of the resort.
The fishing was good for those interested mainly catching on luncheon meat and boilies. Some good carp/tench/bream all approaching 10lb.
We wouldn't hesitate to book again immediately and am sure this will be our second home, all the kids cant wait to get back there (especially Ellie :) ), what more of a recommendation can you get than happy kids!
We were looking at caravans and they tended to be £150-£200 cheaper, but this was definitely worth the extra, so if your deliberating a caravan of here, there really is no comparison to this lodge!
Thank you Barbara and Mick for being so helpful, we really couldn't of asked for anymore, hope to see you all very soon x x x

Park - swimming you have to have a pass for and it ended up costing us £56 to go swimming once and it was cold/small and overcrowded. So you might not want to invest in this, to be honest it wouldn't of been an issue if we hadn't of gone, but promised the youngest.
