“Gino's Pear Tree”

Visited Gino's on several occasions - as other reviews mention, always very friendly reception and make a real effort to accommodate our family. Very nice atmosphere, food and service. Often eat there with some of our extended Italian family - and they rate it highly. Always a highlight of a trip back home.

“#1 choice for families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

As part of a big family, Gino's have always been accomodating to our needs. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are really welcoming. Staff are ready to make recommendations and the service we've received has always been excellent. We've visited on several ocassions & each time we're treated just as specially. Highly recommended!!

“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

Our third time at the restaurant, every time we dine the food keeps getting better. Lovely decor as the restaurant has just been decorated. Had a drink in the new wine bar to start. Would recommend the fresh fish! Certainly the best restaurant for a latte dining in the county.
Great combination of service, food and atmosphere.

“Great food, pretty small place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

Cannot fault the food or the service, I had the veal (British rose) which I was extremely impressed with and my partner had chicken equally lovely. The chips were great and the veg cooked perfectly. The place however is very small and you did feel very cramped in especially as there was a very large group near us meaning it was very difficult to have a conversation.
Cannot fault the food in any way or the service but the ambience just wasn't there.

“service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2012

17 of us visited the pear tree and the service from one senior member was very unacceptable and rude.
First off we were rushed to our seats by him grabbing our bottle of wine from the table we were drinking in the bar area and took it to the table even though not all guests were even there yet. Secondly he lost patience whilst taking our food order and was generally miserable and rude towards our group.
No complaints towards the food but this individual ruined the experience by making us feel uncomfortable - like we shouldn't be there.

Please read the review titled 'Large Party' as written by the other guest seated at this table. As i believe, you were in the small minority who spoiled the evening for the rest of the guests on your table including the organiser.
