“Expensive and not that special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

Went because we felt we ought. The trip is pretty expensive (£11) and, although we picked a glorious sunny day in the middle of a settled spell of weather, and despite being able to see something of the views on the way up (despite being so tightly packed on the train), the minute we reached the summit, down came the clouds. And Murphy's Law, as soon as the train began its descent, we ran back into the sunshine ....

“Journey to the highest point”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

From Laxey change trams and do the amazing journey to over 2000ft. Wonderful views both on the journey and at the top. The weather changes constantly and there are beautiful views into he valleys and also of the Laxey Wheel. A most enjoyable experience and do not be disappointed if you arrive in mist as you can be in sunshine in a few minutes. Good restaurant at the summit.

“Experience the clouds!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

Great views from the top! I spent about an hour up there. It was mostly cloudy, but with intervals of clear sunshine. Lovely to see the clouds racing towards you and 'covering you up' and leaving quietly. Would be a great place for photographers who'd like to do a time-lapse video. There's a cafe up there which offers a nice little postal service. You could buy one of the post cards and get it stamped by the 'Snaefell Mountain Railway'. The railway takes it down to Laxey where it is then handed over to the regular Isle of Man postal service.

“Views, views, views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Well what does one say .. the views from the top on a clear day you might be able to see the Lake District, Blackpool, Scotland and Ireland. The place itself is quite desolate but its good to go and spend an hour or so and there is a very good restaurant.

“clouds disappeared”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

we went on one of the sunset dinners, it had been cloudy all day so knew we wouldnt have a good view. The journey up to the top was good & we sat down to a very good 3 course meal with wine. After our meal decided to venture outside to our surprise we were above the clouds and the view was magical like out of a fairytale certainly unforgettable ,will certainly do again if coming back to the isle of man.
