“Wonderful if you can avoid the crowds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

Erawan Falls are really a series of falls (described as 7 levels). All beautiful all year round. There is more water coming over the falls in rainy season (May-November) of course, but usually more enjoyable to visit in December or January, when there is still good water flow, the trails are drier, and it is cooler. Best to visit early and on weekdays and non-holiday periods to avoid the crowds. You will need more time than you might think to visit as the hike up to the last level takes a good couple of hours -- longer if you want to take a leisurely pace and enjoy the nature.

“Must see!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

This was a beautiful trip to hike up gentle trails to see beautiful blue waterfalls you can swim in. I had no trouble climbing up the first six, I am not in the greatest shape, and passed on the 7th as it got steep. It was beautiful shaded trails well worth the visit.

“Wanted to stay longer but...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

Lovely easy hike to water falls with many different types of butterflies flying around . Got to waterfalls 4 or 5 - just wanted to swim in them. We would've liked to stay longer, but there were so many tourists lounging around like it was a beach resort in their thongs and speedos. Not that we're prudes , but to respect Thai custom of modesty would have put these tourists in a more reverent light. We still enjoyed our time there, took lots of great photos, swam with the flesh sucking fish and felt like our stay was too short. The bathrooms can get pretty dirty with mud on the floors. The restaurants just at the entrance are quite delicious though . We had lunch at one of them and had a mini Thai feast. Our guide ordered for us. So, if you can try to go during low season or earlier in the morning- you'll enjoy it with less tourists. It is quite a beautiful spot for a nice change of scenery for traveling through Thailand.

“Turquoise waters”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

This is a stunning place. There are 7 levels of waterfalls, each having a beautiful turquoise pool at its base. Make sure you bring swim gear as you'll definitely want to go for a swim in the cool water. If you want to avoid the large crowds ascend to the higher levels, the higher you go the fewer people you will see. It's a decent hike to the top but doable for most people. Plan to spend a few hours here and enjoy the beauty.

Transportation was easy, we took a songtaew both ways. The trip is a little over an hour each way so a trip to Erawan Falls can easily take up an entire morning or afternoon.

“Oh beautifull nature !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

On our way to Ayathuya we made a stop here and climbed only to the 4rd level as our guide told it is not necessary to continue and could be difficult to reach the 7th. Than, we took time to admire the different bassins there and took a short swim as the big fishes nibbed a bit too much. Some later we returned to a bassin with small fishes only. The water is soo clear and soft that it's difficult to leave and early on daytime, the crowds aren't there yet.
There are bungalows for rent in theNational Park self and I hope to know one day who to contact as I would like to spend more time there to relax and live in harmony with this so beautifull nature.
