“Great and relaxing place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013 via mobile

Hard to say how to make this place any better. Small hotel but nice and warm atmosphere. Food absolutely fantastic, food intolerances were taken in consideration and service was also great. Pool area nice, clean and not crowded. Higgly recommended if peace is ehat you're looking for. Stayd for 3 nights in the small apartment.

Just back from a 4 night stay in August 2012. What a fabulous time we had. The view from the house is spectacular. The house is wonderful with 6 bedrooms. Due to the fantastic weather other than our rooms which were very comfortable we spent most of our time outside looking out at the view or sunbathing by the pool, but I can imagine in the winter months the dining table and comfortable sofas and log fire would be most welcoming.

The free WIFI was a real bonus and also the availability of pool towels was a bonus. Also air conditioning in the bedrooms was necessary as it was hot weather.

Patrick and son were the perfect hosts who speak very good English. I was particulary impressed with their attention to detail in everything that they do and their choice of decor was lovely.

The breakfast choice was good with the option of eggs and was taken outside on the patio infront of the outside kitchen. The honesty bar is a great idea with lots of choice of cold drinks and wine and beer and also you can have a choice of teas and there is fresh coffee machine. The children were very happy with the ice-creams!

The evening meal we had with other guests and Patrick on the 1st night which they cooked for us was very good and sitting there in the evening outside sipping our cold wine, eating the deliciously prepared food with good company, looking out at the view with the twinkling lights is something my family and I will remember for many years to come.

As they do not cook on a Sunday evening (as they have a well-earned night off!) on the 2nd night we ate in the town approximately 20 minutes away, there are roughly 30 restaurants to choose from and Patrick were on hand to advise us and we opted for a very good Indian Restaurant. We then went across the street to a wonderful homemade ice cream shop.

We had spent 2 weeks on the coast which we enjoyed very much with family but when we arrived at the house by taxi it was really peaceful which was what we were looking for to finish off the end of our holiday. I guess most people would arrive by hire car so that they can make the most of travelling around and exploring the area. The property is close to the airport which was ideal.

We would highly recommend this guesthouse/B&B to everyone, I can imagine if you were travelling on your own it would be ideal also. We have travelled extensively and can honestly say this was a wonderful place to stay.

We will definitely be back!! Thanks for having us!

I've spent my worst holidays in this guest house.
The room are very small, don't trust the pictures you will find on their web site as they are using a special camera to change/increase the dimensions.
The location is very poor and the road to access the hotel is awful.
This is located is a small and dead village where there is nothing to do at all.
The nearest city is malaga but this is about 1h drive !!
The owner is not very nice
The bed is not confortable at all.

And finally the price is very high vs what you will get... you should better stay at the Hilton or a high class hotel in Malaga instead of this very basic hotel

Simply don't go !!

Our website, one of the most complete of the hotel industry, includes a video for each room with 360-degree views where guests can walk around the room and check the sizes, the reality and what they are going to hire.

The last 50m of road to reach the hotel were shabby, but the town hall fixed it. Our village has 400 inhabitants and as a very small village it has its supermarket, tobacco shop, a bar, a small restaurant, etc .... We are surrounded by the white villages in the Guadalhorce Valley, in a radius of 10km maximum. Malaga and the coast are not a 1h away but rather 30min by car.

The owner is an affable, polite and friendly person as can be seen in the comments of the other guests.
If this particular client has not seen that, it’s probably because his attitude or behavior was not appropriate or correct.

The prices and what we offer is reflected in the web and on the hotel reviews on our website. What we offer is not what an INDUSTRIAL hotel like the Hilton would offer. We offer the opposite: family atmosphere at home, a hotel with only 6 rooms with all luxurious details, romanticism, romanticism offered to dine in a restaurant with only 5 tables and with the only the light of candles, to enjoy dishes "elaborated and with a touch of cuisine signature" of the Mediterranean cuisine highly valued by the Michelin guide, widespread affection of the entire team of Posada los Cántaros, personal attention, discretion, tranquility, beauty, breathtaking views, rural environment, and much more ... ........ "
Of course you have to value what we offer!! And those who do not value it, have no place in the Posada Los Cántaros Inn, but rather in an industrial hotel.

This is the type of hotel we would never have found before the internet - but what a find! We had a two night stay for our wedding anniversary here and it was absolutely perfect.

As it was a special occasion we chose the Jazmin Suite. Within the suite you have your own private spa including sauna and jacuzzi. You can sit in the jacuzzi and watch the sunset over the mountains, before lighting the candles thoughtfully provided by the owners around the tub.

The bedroom itself has a four poster bed, sofa, flatscreen tv, with doors leading to your own private balcony complete with a private set of steps down to the pool. The room was absolutely immaculate in every respect - not a scratch or a mark on the furniture, clean, crisp linen and surfaces sparklingly clean. It felt like we were the first ones to use the room!

We ate for our first night in the hotel resturant and were served a delicious three course meal, served by candlelight on the dining terrace. We also had the buffet breakfast on the terrace. The hotel has a lounge area which is very pleasant, and drinks are available on request.

Gibralgagia is very convenient for Malaga airport but is quite literally away from it all - it is at the end of a very minor road at the foot of the mountains. Our only tip would be if you are hiring a car, choose a small one as some of the roads in the village are a real squeeze!

Overall - five stars and highly recommended.

Room Tip: Special occassion? Choose the Jazmin Suite. It is one of the most luxurious rooms we have every st...

If you like staying with your Grandma, being suffocated in chintzy knick knacks, eating bland overpriced food and stuck a €15 ride to other optionsand the worst shower in Spain to boot-then this is the place for you! It is close to Malaga and it has an extraordinary view, but can do MUCH better for less money

My husband and I have just come back from a beautiful relaxing romantic 3 days at Posada Los Cantaros. This is definitely a must visit for anyone who enjoys rustic rural tranquility. Patrick and Emma are adorable caring individuals who have managed to put together the most beautiful vacation anyone could desire. Patrick is also an amazing chef who enjoys changing the menu daily and happily surprising the visitors palate with beautiful sensations. The food is delicious. Thank you so much Patrick and Emma for making us feel at home. We hope to come back and see you soon. We had an amazing 3 days.

We stayed in the Suite Jazmin, and it truly was beyond my expectations. The decoration is so elegant and romantic, the views are amazing, lovely background music, a quaint lovely place. But the Suite is out of this world, difficult to describe with words. Every little detail you can imagine, and then, alas!, the bathroom is breathtaking, an impressive jacuzzi, sauna, you name it, and the decoration is stunning.
Patrick y Emma made us feel at home, respecting our privacy at the same time, and the food was great, such a romantic dinner, Patrick, you truly are a great cook!.We've never seen a place like this before. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a romantic getaway.
