We have eaten good meals at the George in the past. On this occasion our party had a reservation for Sunday early evening. First problem - no reservation. But to the staff's credit they found us a table. Second problem - no Sunday roast dinner options remaining. We ordered from the main menu. Starters were OK but a main course 'rib eye' was definitely NOT a rib eye cut but a rump. We were also brought the wrong vegetables, and had to ask for the side order chips to be brought.
I really hope this was a blip - The George was always considered a safe bet amongst my friends and it would be a real shame if the service and quality have deteriorated.
