“''Booked again for 2013''”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

This was our 6th year staying at PTF, which sums up how much we enjoy our stay, in fact this year we added an extra day. It is far better than home from home, a warm welcome, afternoon tea with homemade cake, delicious dinners and hearty breakfasts all using local produce. I look forward every year to Steve's recipe for 'Devilled Lambs Kidneys' simply served on toast, wonderful! It's the perfect place to stay with friends or family or for us a 'girls' weekend, we love to shop in Ludlow or Ledbury then come back to PTF and show Jill our spoils before a nap or soak in the beautiful roll top bath. The evening starts with a cocktail, followed by dinner, wine and if we want coffee. Jill and Steve just leave us to it and the last one to bed turns out the lights and after a good nights sleep in luxurious linen sheets, the early morning tea tray is brought to your door. We can't all be wrong, treat yourself you will not be disappointed.

This is quite simply the best B&B we've ever stayed at. Jill and Steve are perfect hosts and we were spoilt the entire time we were there. Afternoon tea each day, delicious breakfasts and rooms that are spotless and full of character plus a good supply of DVD's, books and CD's!

We booked without reading Trip Advisor reviews (having found them inaccurate in the past). However in this case we have to concur with the other 22 'excellent' reviews. Steve and Jill are fabulous hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Attentive, whilst blending into the background - how do they do that? Be sure to have a t least one meal with them! The house is beautiful, garden lovely and food fantastic. Even the dogs add to the experience. We'll be back.

Room Tip: They are all lovely

This was a fourth visit to Pear Tree Farm and our first as a house party. We came with friends who has also been before to celebrate both myself and my husbands birthday. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated as important guests by Steve and Jill. Our hosts fulfilled our every need, with afternoon teas and cake (homemade and delicious of course) and pimms and cider in the garden before dinner. They organised a superb supper on our first evening with local cheeses and an excellent dinner on our 2nd night that would rival some of the best restaurants. Breakfast - what can I say, simply the best. All the rooms are unique in their own way and are beautiful so I would be happy to stay in any of them. This all led to a relaxing weekend celebration in a fantastic and interesting house with great hospitality,

Room Tip: Choose the double room - the bathroom is to die for!!!!

This was the second time (2005) at Pear Tree Farm and we were definitely not disappointed!

The food is (still) excellent and our hosts, Steve and Jill, very attentive and never intrusive. You get the feeling they are your best friends and have just invited you round to their excellent house for you to stay while they feed you with the sumptuous - always local - food.

The accommodation is always spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable.

The grounds are beautifully kept and the whole place has the feeling of being totally relaxed and far away from the pressures of life.
The local area is extremely beautiful and quiet even though we returned in high season.

We also enjoyed an evening meal (to celebrate our friends 50th birthdays) at PTF and this was superb! The cooking we think has improved since 2005 - even though it was excellent then.

We will definitely be back (probably sooner this time) to sample the hospitality and food to rival any 5 star hotel but with price tag much lower.

IMy friend and I have been staying at Pear Tree Farm for the last 6 years on my annual visit to the Hay Book Festival. We return again and agian because of excellent facilities in a beautiful building as well as superb hosts. We have the studio apartment but always have a meal with the other guests on one of the evenings which is always an enjoyable affair.

Steve and Jill are exellent hosts, and cooks, and we always look forward to our stay. The whole house is available for house parties and it would be a wonderful way to celebrate a family birthday or aniversary.

We'll be back next year!

Wonderful hospitality. Steve has a knack of engaging you at the right time in an unforced interested manner. He responds willingly to all overtures which is additional to his behind the scenes baking (and more onerous tasks!). Jill is every bit as hospitable, qualities essential for a relaxing time in a most beautiful part of the country. Their home is gloriously comfortable with every attention to detail. We can only long for a promised revisit to this gem of a place.
