“Weekend break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

The room we stayed in was in the property next door to the main guest house which had been recently refurbished and off street parking was available. The room was clean, well-appointed and had en suite facilities with towels and basic toiletries provided. There was also a table and chairs, tea & coffee making facilities and a flat screen TV in the room.

Breakfast was provided in the main guest house and whilst the breakfast room was small we were served straight away the first day and only had a 5 minute wait the second day. Breakfast was provided to meet individual taste and cooked to order and was delicious.

Most important in this review was the attitude of the owners who met us with a friendly welcome and took the time to find out enough about our stay to make a number of recommendations to improve our stay and to help us find our way about the city making best use of public transport. They also took the opportunity over breakfast to ask about the previous day and then find out about the current day; again offering advice and guidance which was most helpful. In all they were both very friendly and I would not hesitate to recommend this guest house.

This bed and breakfast is ideally suited in salford manchester and not far from the trafford centre and excellant for a stay if you are staying over for the use of the oaklands private hospital. The hotel has many rooms at great costs with an excellant full english breakfasts with a good choice of cerels , tea coffee and juices. The twin double rooms are very clean with tea and coffee facilites . Large television , comfortable bed . and very tidy bathroom . Great location for any manchester games either red or blue. Paul runs this very good hotel and is friendly and will assist with any requirements . We had to leave one night early and he has rebooked us in for a later date and adjusted to suit . Cant get any more genuine than that . He gave use ideas of place to eat and drink during our stay and if we require to stay in manchester soon this is the place to stay . excellant base to trip from . MR and MRS Paul Heron

Room Tip: Ask paul if his recent refurbished property is avaiable . All the guest house is great . we stayed t...

We stayed here for two nights (Fri and Sat) as went to see Muse at the Ethiad Staidum on the Saturday! Our train was slightly delayed so got there a bit later than planned but Paul was very friendly and greeted us when we got there, showing us to our room. We were in the left house on the ground floor and only quarm would be the noise of the main door on a morning (must have got more used to it by the second morning though and didn't notice :-).

The room was lovely, fresh and clean - the double was two twins pushed together but that's the case in most hotels! Very nice shower, toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. It's really nice and bright too with big windows and blinds.

Location is good, very short walk from the tram station and a trip to the city centre was about 25/30 mins for quite cheap and you get to see the sights as you go! A Saturday afternoon taxi was about £12 to the Printworks so not too bad, but would advise booking ahead on the night or getting the tram back from a concert!

Paul is so welcoming and friendly, really making us feel at home. He goes that bit extra to make the stay a good one. He also recommended a local restaurant Smiths, who gave us a bottle of wine for the cost of two medium glasses, because we mentioned Paul told us about them! The dessert was amazing too!

Last words would be the delicious, freshly cooked breakfast which Paul cooks and makes sure its exactly how you want it. You have this in a welcoming environment and meet other guests which was lovely! Would definitely recommend!

My stay at the ivy mount guest house from 25may-27may was one of the best i've ever had. Firstly on coming to ivy mount i was met by one of the friendliest people i ever met, he made sure we had everything in my room which was based on the top floor of the vip house which was very clean and tidy. On the first morning the breakfast was one of the best i've ever had. Lastly the room where of top quality, i would give the hotel 10/10 just because Paul was one of the friendiest people u can ever meet. I would tell everyone to book because u will have a ball, i'm going to book again for next season's rugby league magic weekend. Keep up the good work Paul and see u next season

from

Matthew. P

Room Tip: i would go for the vip rooms they are best ever

Had the VIP room. Which was lovely. Clean and tidy. Only slight thing wrong was the mini fridge was not stocked with things as advertised. Paul the owner was ever so friendly and helpful. Gave us ideas where to eat and drink and places to shop. Good location and only 5 minute walk from metro link. Which will get you into Manchester city centre in 30 mins for about £2.50 return. They run every 10-15 mins and run quite late at night too. I would defo stop here if needed to be in the area again

Stayed at Ivy Mount for 1 night on 22/05/13 for my husbands birthday, we were greeted with a happy and jolly Paul who was lovely.
We were given a bedroom with twin beds but when I mentioned that I’d asked for a Double Paul quickly sorted this out and led us to another room which was a double.
The room was sparkling clean, no dust at all!
Nice average sized room with a very comfy bed with a nice un-suite bathroom.
Hairdryer, Iron and ironing board as well as a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities are all provided and ready in the room.
This hotel was a perfect distance from all the amenities, only 10 minute drive to Trafford shopping centre and 10 minutes to Wilmslow road for all the nice restaurants and Sheesha bars.
Shame we could only stay the 1 night due to work commitments but will definitely stay here again next time we visit Manchester.
Thanks Paul. :)

Room Tip: Try to avoid a room on the ground floor if you want to sleep in a little, as the clattering of plate...
