“Great pub if you're visiting the area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2011

Had lunch with friends after completing a nearby walk. Traditional English pub feel - good selection of beers, and good home cooked food. Ideal if you're visiting Sulgrave Manor, or just happen to be in the area.

Stayed for the beer festival weekend and in addition to excellent food, beer, music and pub games Will and Mandy (landlord and landlady) even laid on a Frank Carson look alike!

Would definitely stay again, thank you for a memorable stay.

The pub has been taken over in March 2011.

I got a very warm welcome from the owners and the staff. The room was comfortable, very clean and the location meant it was quiet at night and I had an excellent night's sleep. The breakfast was of a high standard with a choice of cereals followed by full english.

The pub is a lovely, historic building with a nice beer garden, excellent ales and very good food for both lunch and dinner. It's very friendly and I ended up spending the evening chatting at the bar to both staff and customers.

Sulgrave is in a stunning location and is a friendly, attractive village to use as a base.

I'd have no reservations in going back to The Star Inn

We stayed in the The Star Inn for my Wifes birthday bash. We has sole use of the restaurant for the party and stayed in the Woodcote room, however our other guests occupied all the other rooms with nothing but praise. The owners, Barry and Gillie, were ever helpful and attentive. We had lunch, an evening buffet and breakfast all of which were beautifully prepared.
A huge bonus of the great B&B is its proximity to Silverstone. A a race fan who fully intends to attend many events at Silverstone, I certainly know where I will be staying!

Barry and Gillie provided outstanding service together with their experience and knowledge of motorsport, which was a real extra bonus as this was our weekend away to watch the moto gp.The location to silverstone was convenient and easy especially after a long day at the races away. Together with their staff we felt very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. On our return each evening we were provided with an excellent meal and entertainment. Thank you all at the Star Inn it was a weekend we will always remember. Cheers from Roger and Chris-we will be back.
