“A good base for hiking, with great dinners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

This is a family-run hotel-restaurant that serves delicious dishes far above our expectations for a remote village, and at modest prices. We had Chambre 53, a spacious well-appointed room with a terrace and a view of the mountains, and a spacious bathroom. This was our base for hiking in the Cirque de Lescun and on the Chemin de la Mature. The St. Jacques pilgrimage route over the Col de Somport passes through the village, and the GR 10 trail passes within 3 km. We liked the local Béarn wines (red and rosé) recommended by the host.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing away from the street, as many trucks and buses travel this route during the da...

This hotel was in a quiet little village close to the Spanish border. Amazing scenery, and absolutely delicious dinner menu. We had cabbage soup, trout, mutton with beans, profiteroles, and Creme brûlée. Doesn't sound exciting, but it was some of the best food we have had in France and very inexpensive. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: We had a room with no air conditioning, just opened the French doors for a perfect temperature. Wen...

This is a gem of a find in a section of the world where good lodging can be difficult to locate. The Voyageurs is an older establishment but very quaint. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, in particular Nicoise, regardless of our limited ability to speak French! Our room was very clean, roomy and comfortable. The two meals we partook of in the hotel restaurant were superb. The terrine of duck was moist, tender and mouth watering! What a surprise to find a gourmet meal in a small town in the Pyrennes! We certainly recommend the Voyageurs to travelers and would visit again if we happen to be in the Pyrennes!

Room Tip: Request a mountain side room.

Staff very helpful and friendly, room always very clean and warm, beds very comfortable, restaurant very good, food always of a good standard. DOG FRIENDLY!!! and no charge for a pet in your room. Very good value for money, only down side can be a bit noisy due to other guests, but this has not stopped us staying here and the hotel being our number one choice in the area.
