“Still a good business hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2014

Stayed here the night before a work meeting.

Hotel is probably easiest to reach by car, though there were frequent buses to and from Amersfoort.

This time, I was given a larger room than the basic room I was given during my previous visit. It was on a corner, with high ceilings and big windows (though one windows looked out onto an emergency staircase). The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable, though a bit hard, and the bathroom was clean. Wifi was slow but reliable.

Breakfast was good, fresh and varied. The conference rooms of the hotel were still very good, the rooms are large, and the break areas have good coffee and refreshments.

Would stay here again for conferences and such, certainly not for a romantic weekend.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are somewhat bigger and appear newer than the standard rooms.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights whilst on a coach trip to the Dutch bulb fields. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The bedrooms were of reasonable size with a wardrobe and shelf space but no drawers. The beds were very comfortable. There was a hair drier in the bathroom. We were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast, we were expecting a basic continental breakfast but there was a good selection including scrambled eggs, and bacon on offer. Evening meals were very good and there was free tea and coffee available throughout the day. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The hotel:
The hotel looks really great. it's build in a old monastery which you can still see in some elements on the inside but combined with new elements. I really loved the combination between old and new.

Price:
The price for the rooms are good in my oppinion for what you get. it's relatively low and you do get a decent room with all standard requirements.

Room:
The room i booked (1 person) was kinda small, even for a 1 person room, but it has enough space for a working area. It's kinda odd that the radiator is not managed by a central system but the "oldschool" type with the knobs on the radiator. Next to this the walls are really thin, i could hear the TV from the room next to mine without problems and everytime a person went to the hallway it was like it was in my room. This off course is hard to change for a hotel, but it's worth mentioning. The bed itself was good and i had a good night sleep.

Bathroom:
The bathroom is basic and not too big, not too small with a normal shower.

Services:
Staff is really friendly and polite, Really professional. Next to this they offer free Wifi which is fast enough. thumbs up on this.

neighborhood:
I't close by the training facility i needed to go to. Next to this Amersfoort and Utrecht are also close.

Parking:
Free parking with a big parking lot which (according to the signs) is protected with camera's.

Overall:
Overall experience was good, not average, but also not very good. Just good. The room could be better, but for the price i paid, i could not really complain. I would visit this location again whenever i need to stay nearby.

This hotel is set on a beautiful location, full of space and green.
The rooms are pretty bare, but clean and bed is confortable.
Internet worked well both times I stayed there.
If you are travelling on business, this hotel is not convenient. Rooms do not have hair driers, you need to ask to borrow one at the reception, quite inconvenient.
The restaurant is quite good, but service takes forever, so plan to go there with plenty of time. There is no room service, if you´re tired at night and looking for a quick meal in the room.
Both times I´ve been there the hotel was holding events, so resturant was impossible.
Breakfast is expensive and only starts at 7:00am, so not for people working.
With some small changes, the otel could be very good.

The description of this hotel is somewhat misleading; it IS a nice hotel, but it looks very business like and the mission house and monastery are mainly visible from the outside, you don't feel that atmosphere inside. The rooms are clean, the location is nice, you walk straight into the woods and the town of Soesterberg is within walking distance. Breakfast is pretty much okay; we had it included in the price which i think is reasonable as i would not have paid 17,50 for what i ate.

Other than the somewhat business like feel, there was another thing that i didn't like: check out time is at 9:30 in the morning and also breakfast is served only until that time. Makes you feel rushed and not relaxed.

Stayed here for about a week while on a work-related workshop cum training and loved the quiet and green environment that the place presents. It is next to a beautiful green forest that one can take walks or go for early morning/late evening runs. This is a place I would go for a restful holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the city yet still near towns/cities such as Amersfoort or Utrecht. I'd recommend this place!

Stayed here for one night during a 2-day business meeting.

Hotel is probably easiest to reach by car, public transport involved getting on a small bus from Amersfoort, which ran 4 times an hour during daytime.

My stay here mostly consisted of visiting work-related workshops in the meeting rooms of the hotel, which were all well-appointed and comfortable. During workshops, there was time for breaks in the common area near reception where free coffee and tea were served (good coffee, freshly grinded beans!). The hotel kept serving food every few hours; during lunch break, there was a nice warm and cold buffet, which was followed by more food and drinks later in the afternoon, which was again followed by a 3-course dinner. The next day there was even more buffet food for breakfast and lunch. All food was of good quality as well.

The room was basic, but clean. The bed was comfortable and provided a good night's sleep. The bathroom was small, but clean. Wifi reception in the room and throughout the hotel was good and fast enough for video-calling.
