“the view from the top of the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

Amasya castle was built the top of the hills that surrounds the city. It is difficult to go, but the price is worth the effort. The view is magnificient. You can see the city, the river, the valley and the hills. And in the hot summer time you can cool down there. to go there i recommend a vehicle, cause the road is very difficult to climb.

“Worth the taxi ride!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Hot day! Wanted to see the view from the top! Opted to negotiate a return taxi ride! We asked our taxi driver to pick us up after an hour and we had a lovely time sitting at the top enjoying the stunning view! Well worth it. It's a long walk.....

“MAGNIFICENT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

Amasya is the most beautiful city in the world with its deep history...Its name comes from the Amazon women....It's been served as a town of the princes in the ages of Ottoman Empire...It had a center where the sick people are healed by the effect of music and this was unique in the world. The Green River runs through the between two mountains and on one of the mountain there are big gates known as king rock graves. The scene especially at night cannot be compared with anywhere on earth...It has a very mystical tissue and everyone must witness this endless beauty...

We drove to the top, to save some time. Great views, don't miss. Great photos of the area from several spots. I would definitely take the time to see this castle.
