I heard about Spice Beach Club from a friend who owns a hotel in Lovina and I am so glad we chose to try it out. Spice Beach Club has only been open for about 6 months and it is fantastic. I emailed prior to travelling to Bali and made a booking for 11 people for 12 July and also requested a free hotel pick up. The pick up (2 cars) arrived at our hotel at the designated time. The driver of the vehicle I was in (Terry) was very friendly and made our experience a delight right from the beginning which was at the time of first emailing to enquire. The van was new, modern, clean, air conditioned and even had DVD screens with a movie playing. When we pulled into the car park area and took our first look at the place we were all extremely impressed. The staff we all happy, friendly, accommodating and efficient. There was another couple with about 7 or 8 kids who were getting extremely rowdy in the pool area. The parents did not seem to care if they were annoying others but when we mentioned to the staff that it was becoming a little much they could not do enough to try and fix the situation for us. The service was fast and efficient without being in your face. The food was beautiful and good value for money considering the setting. The restaurant is set on the beach front and was a spectacular place to be to watch the sunset. There is a resident DJ who gives the place a great modern vibe. The kitchen is large, clean and open for all to see exactly what is happening. There is a round gazebo area with lounges and cushions which is a great spot to relax and enjoy a few drinks while taking in the atmosphere. There is a separate large, round bar so if you did not want to dine you could just enjoy a few drinks at the bar or on one of the many sun lounges on the beach front. There are 2 pools that you can use while there and they also can supply towels if you don't have your own. The drinks are reasonably priced considering the venue and there is a large selection of options. I had the nasi goreng seafood for main and then creme brulee for desert. I also enjoyed 3 cocktails during my time here. My bill came to only Rp 465 000 which was good value at a venue of this calibre. While here we got talking to one of the owners and said that we could easily stay here forever. He said one of the future plans is to include some upmarket accommodation. I would love to see this happen as I think it would be a great place to stay while in Lovina. I loved my dining experience here and will definitely be returning next year when I am in Lovina again. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something a bit fancier.
