My Wife and I stayed in Room 7 located at the far end of a newer wing attached to the original Main House. It was a quiet, large, nicely decorated room with a large King Sized Bed, overlooking the side Gardens. An excellent en-suite shower room was included, that was very clean, had a good sized shower cubicle and offered soap, shower gel, shampoo and shower cap.
All the staff we encountered during our stay were very friendly, professional and very much interested in guests having an enjoyable stay. Ian, the Duty Manager, was quick to listen to, address and appropriately resolve a small issue we had during our stay.
Continental and/or Full English Breakfast was served in the guest Restaurant, located just off the main reception area - the food being well presented/cooked.
The Hotel has large, well tended Garden areas to 2 sides of the Building and a Large Car Park to the front and side - with the added bonus of a Heated outdoor Swimming Pool, available at certain times of the day during the Summer season, to the rear of the property.
It is well located for easy access to both Norwich City Centre and the nearby Norfolk Broads.
There is a Large, attractive Conservatory Room to the rear of the building that was used for functions on each of the 4 nights of our stay - the adjacent Bar was also utilised for the Functions and though it was possible to obtain drinks from the Bar it was not possible to drink them in there.
The reason for 4 stars instead of 5:
With Functions taking place in the Conservatory room it meant limited available space for residents to relax in the evening - with only the guest Restaurant (Evening Meals are available) and/or a rather poorly presented guest lounge (resembling a Care Home Lounge), with no windows, being available. The guest Lounge also provided a route between the Kitchen and Restaurant, so is regularly used by waiting staff serving guests taking an evening meal.
