“Excellent hotel , lookout for the wifi !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Visited for 2 nights during a conference - beds extremely comfortable , enough pillows for an army ! Room clean , spacious and good shower. Was slightly wary of other trip advisors comments about chlorine smells but pool was lovely and only smelly in 1st floor rooms ie groundish ( up a few steps overlooking pool). But overall this is a lovely hotel and what do you expect when all rooms overlook the pool from the corridor as it is centrally placed.
We had dinner , breakfast and lunch here and food & service was excellent at all times. The only poor experience was a conference of bankers hogging the bar and braying like donkeys, so we could not even sit down and could not hear to order our drinks to take away - not a fault of the hotel but put me off banking with that company if this is how their staff behave en masse.
Look out for the wifi charge - it is £15 per day in your room - I think this is way too high when you are paying almost £100 a night for the room and does not carry through to the reception rooms of the hotel. Although we had free wifi on our conference rate it was added to everyone's room and we all had to ask to have it removed - made us suspicious that it was a default setting on all bills ?

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking gardens not Golf Club car park as it is gravelled and staff & players...

50 of us just returned from an amazing weekend at Sprowston. This was our 2nd visit and I would say it was even better than the 1st time.

We arrived early but our rooms were ready for us, we had 214, huge bed with a sofa and chair, the bathroom was spotless. (I must agee with previous comments that the rooms are very warm)

The Zest bar was excellent, fantastic service from the staff and the food was lovely - try the salt and pepper squid, its lovely.

Lovely breakfast in the morning, so much unlimited choice.

We had a seperate dining room for the Saturday evening as there was a large group of us. Lovely dinner, no complaints at all, great service, very attentive staff.

Two very minor niggles - the local Ale (Wherry) ran out in the main hotel bars on the Saturday night and the Zest bar needs to look at its food ordering system, maybe taking a name instead of asking the general area that you are sitting in would work better, its ok when its quite but with 50+ people in there it was chaos.

All in all another great weekend, hoping to go back again next year - a credit to the Marriott group.

Room Tip: If you don't like a very warm room, ask for one away from the Spa

I have stayed here quite a few times I also got Married here so Sprowston Manor in my eyes is fantastic. The Staff are always very accommodating and friendly. The beds here are fantastic one of the best I have slept in. The food is of a good quality and fairly reasonable. I would recommend staying here to anyone.

Room Tip: Room 212 right at the end of a corridor.

I joined a group for a golf break this week and was expecting the usual chain hotel package , but what a pleasant surprise . The hotel was of exceptional standard, our room was spacious and of a high standard, but best of all were the staff who really went out of their way to make us welcome.........well done to you all .
The golf course was in excellent condition and a joy to play.
Overall a very pleasant stay and we will definitely return, and I will have no hesitation in recommending this to others.

I booked this hotel via the MARRIOTT web-site (which gave more accommodation options than BOOKING.COM!!).

From the moment we arrived we were treated in a very special way.

All of the staff we encountered: reception desk (checking-in); beauty spa (my lady friend had 2 lovely massages); the restaurant staff (evening meal); room service staff (breakfast in a 4-poster bed); and reception desk (checking-out) seemed to be very capable and happy in their work!!

My only comment wold be that there was a function being held in the MARQUEE in the grounds of the hotel; which just had to be situated below our second floor bedroom window; and so we had wall-to-wall until the early hours of Sunday morning!!

Room Tip: avoid room 225 (MORSE SUITE) on a Saturday night IF a function is being held in the marquee!!

Not impressed with zest bistro. Had lunch today as a Treat the Marriott Burger Was disgusting, cheap Long lifeBun I've never Attempted to eat such a dried out beef burger. My daughters chicken was so dry she couldn't Eat it and the blue cheese linguine Had no blue cheese in it. Mushy peas served in messy ramekins and cheap frozen chips.we would have got better food at mcdonalds and paid half the price. The waitress was surprised when my husband said the catering manager should be ashamed but there is no excuse for serving inferior food. They are a hotel and restaurant, not a roadside burger van we won't Be going back and suggest You don't go either

what a wonderful hotel comfortable rooms, restaurant and bar, very friendly staff and to boot a great golf course. The golf course is not as difficult as you might think as long as you keep out of the bunkers, very tricky greens though which are cut and ironed daily.
I would not hesitate to stay here again.
