We had the pleasure of staying 5 nights at Hotel Torre Laurentii. Having read the previous Tripadvisor reviews, we came with high expectations and we were not disappointed. Torre Laurentii is a beautifully restored house which stays true to its origins and the enchanting medieval setting of Sant Llorenc de la Muga. The hotel is well appointed and our room and bathroom were clean and comfortable with a range of quality toiletries from Damana.
As for the church bells (which are incidentally commonplace in many such Spanish villages), light sleepers may face problems but it is surely a matter of personal preference. We did not find them distracting at all and, to the contrary, they only served to amplify the ambiance of this beautiful village. In Stephan we found a host who could not have been more attentive without in any way being intrusive. He was always at our disposal without being in the way. Thank you Stephan.
For anyone visiting the Costa Brava, we would certainly recommend a stay at Hotel Torre Laurentii. It is a beautiful place to stay in a wonderful setting.
