“Stop-over for repairs”

We enjoyed our stay at Le Pare Blue Marina while awaiting repairs to our generator. Palm Tree Marine over saw the problem and sourced the offending parts. All credit due to Arelene and her team at Palm Tree Marine. The Marina staff were excellent, as were the facilities: pool bar, restaurant, pool, bakery, laundrette and provisioning store. Plus an excellent dinghy concert and happy hour with live entertainment. All this in a picture perfect setting. Who could ask for a better place to be ?? Thanks to all involved

We stayed here in February and loved the informal and open feel of the place. We stayed in an apartment which was lovely. I especially liked the large wide balcony with plenty of comfortable furniture. We had a slight issue with very slow service at breakfast on the first morning but I think there were unusual circumstances as they had hosted the competitors for a yatcht race the evening before. After that the service was fine. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the owner took us on a tour of the bay in his boat which was an added bonus. On the last night we had a meal at the lighthouse ship restaurant. We sat out on the deck with pre-dinner drinks and then had a wonderful steak meal which wouldn't have disgraced a top London restaurant. On other evenings we ate in the bar and then afterwards sat looking out to sea and watched the boats in the marina whilst enjoying our rum punch. A very relaxing stay, thank you.

We have just returned from our eleventh visit to this special hotel and it gets better every time we go. The staff and owners are friendly and courteous and cant do enough for you.
The rooms are extremely comfortable and well equiped. We just love the open air living and sitting on the balcony and looking at the beautiful well kept gardens. Over the years the gardens just get more beautiful as they mature.
The food is always good especially the tuna which was cooked just as I liked it seared and rare in the middle.
The friday night music was exceptional, we both keep thinking about that fantastic evening of music and how many people came to watch.
This hotel and marina is a little gem and we wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Thank you Jana, Dieter and all the staff for a wonderful holiday.

Room Tip: We have stayed in the apartments and the Villas, both are as comfortable as each other. The Villas...

We visited Le Phare Bleu twice, once for lunch and once for Friday music night. The food is good, the views spectacular and its a well thought out, laid back hotel on a beautiful beach with a lively marina. The staff are fun and the service good. However it is on Friday night that the place comes alive. We arrived to a full restaurant to listen to a great local band sing. I had fantastic shrimp and the atmosphere was buzzing. It was a great evening and well worth the drive but book as the restaurant was full despite being low season. Le Phare Bleu also is committed to the enviroment and charity projects.

Room Tip: We visited the restaurant but hotel also looks nice. Book, this place is popular with tourists and l...

A group of us had dinner here one evening. They have a great view but the food was not so great. They have limited things on the menu and the service was poor. The lighting was also poor in the restaurant. The servers were not friendly. My husband and daughter had steak which was not cooked the way they asked for it. I had the chicken which was better. They also lied about what was on the dessert menu because we asked about dessert even before we sat down to eat and they said they had chocolate brownie with chocolate icecream but when the time for desert they had no chocolate icecream. My daughter was disappointed because she loves chocolate. Also when time to pay for the meal, the girl did the transaction and the paper ran out of the machine. She told me she had to send back the money in the card and then take it out again which she did,but when I got my statement I got less than what I was suppose to get back. I called the restaurant and they said they will get back to me but did not. Maybe after they read this review I might get a call.

Dear Geeta

You have my full attention. I am so sorry that no one has been in contact with you after you called us. I am very concerned by your review and would like you to email me directly. There are a few things I need to ask but the main one is - can you tell me the date you visited the restaurant? Please email me lynn@lepharebleu.com as soon as you can so that I can look into and resolve this matter.

We do have a new Restaurant Manager who started with us only a few days ago as the owners had to ask the previous one to leave. The new Restaurant Manager is responsible for improving service standards and our relatively new Chef is working on a new menu that will offer a lot more choice.

Thank you for your feedback as this enables us improve. Your experience of us is not what we aim to achieve, so we need to look into why we did not achieve our customer service standard.

I hope to hear from you very soon.

Kind regards
Lynn

We've thuroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Phare Bleu. The marina turned out to be a great spot to take a few months to relax with our kids after sailing down from Texas. They've got a great pool and a reasonably priced restaurant that served up several dishes that agreed well with our fairly picky children. We stayed during the down season from mid-August to mid-October and found that the day to day population of the resort provided us with a good mix of quiet nights at the pool and some where we had company.

The staff at the restaurant and in the marina were courteous and helpful. We had a small problem with the shore power outlet for our boat, but we verified that the problem was not on our end and they were able to switch us to another outlet that worked better. There are a few small marine oriented stores in the resort, and we had particularly good service from the guys at Palm Tree Marine.

The resort is still remote, despite all of the ongoing development on the island. A handful of beautiful homes dot the hills above, and you get a great view of Calivigny Island. This was by far the most scenic marina we've ever patronized. The trade off is that provisioning requires a bus ride or a rental car, but it was well worth it for the tranquil view. Some provisions were available at the onsite mini-market, and there was a weekly vegetable and fruit stand that helped us space out our trips into town.

Writing reviews about places and things is something we probably all enjoy, but some, if not most, of us overlook what is truly important about our travels. Saying that the fish tacos are excellent or the housekeeping didn't fully live up to our expectation is fine and lets people understand some valuable wisdom about places unknown, but I think what we all search for in our lives is someone to help us just simply experience. This basic and mostly unattainable service is what is provided for you at Le Phare Bleu.
I think it should be said at this point, that I am not a shill. I was, however, a pretty simple guy that stayed here for a very special reason... my wedding. That being stated, this trip was very obviously pretty atypical.
All accounted for, we had just over thirty people staying with us here, which meant that we kind of took over the place...(which is an absolute blast, but also a cluster f&@k from hell). Lynn and the rest of the reception staff were unbelievably patient, and worked so hard for months to make sure everyone had their reservations squared away, and needed nothing upon arrival. This in turn allowed us to truly maximize the amount of time we could all just simply enjoy this amazing atmosphere, which is so perfect it is hard to describe.
With the bobbing masts from the marina just a few yards from shore letting you know that it doesn't matter what's going on in the world, everything is perfect right where you are: the well maintained beaches being gently brushed by the waves, the fruit trees scattered throughout the property, the hidden hammock, the open air living spaces in all the villas, and of course the bar (which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner), it's hard to think of anything else you might need.
The executive chef oversee's both restaurants, one of which is a retired ship that seats about 50, fully equipped with white tablecloths and all the more formal accompaniments, and the other a pool and beach-side bar that is capable of putting on intimate rockshows that make pretty much everyone forget where they are and just dance.
Her food shined with skill talent. It is fresh from the garden on the hillside behind the property, and perfectly prepared with levels of sophistication that would fill seats in any major city. We brought a tough foodie crowd to you, and your honesty and humility truly shined through and impressed us all. Only then to be complemented be a hard-working, courteous, and friendly staff only seals the deal on a terrific experience.
Ultimately it would have been simpler to just say that this place is excellent, and tell you all to spend some time there. But I don't think that would have done it justice. I've taken away from this trip not only some much needed relaxation, but also an unexpected inspiration and a long misplaced appreciation for those little thing we find so hard to put into words. I don't know for sure, but it seems to me that the owners have a dream, a vision, and a passion for all things honest, and they have found a way to share it with everyone who is willing to see it.
This review started out short, and could have only been two words.
Thank you

Dear Sam

Thank you for your wonderful review.

It was indeed a pleasure to meet you and your wife. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. We know very well how challenging it can be to organise 30+ people, so we were only too happy to take away some of the responsibility from you so that you could enjoy your very special life changing event - your wonderful wedding day.

We hope this is the first of your visits to Grenada and wish you and your wife the very best for the future.

Kind regards
Lynn
