“Does the Job”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2012

This is a relatively inexpensive property which provides reasonably good access to Conguillio National Park. Food was good. There is an ala carte menu for lunch but at dinner they seem to want you to have their fixed menu. The fixed menu has a starter, main, and dessert. Breakfast was acceptable with meats, cheeses, breads, juice, cereal, and yoghurt. The proprietor, Hans, was quite friendly.

Room Tip: Some rooms are closer to the common area - restaurant and might be noisy. My room was on the other...

The owner Hans is very helpful with planning daytrips and makes good German meals. Fine breakfast.

We stayed here for 5 nights during a ski mountaineering trip. Its ideally located for skiing on Lonquimay,Llaima,Tolhuaca, and Sierra Nevada. Hans the owner is a unique character (in a good way) and really helpful in providing directions to get to all the trailheads. He is also an excellent cook.

We stayed with the very helpful Hans and his staff for four nights. Andenrose is well situated for access to National Parks and hiking trails, and Hans really gave us a lot of excellent guidance about where to go and what to see.

Our rooms were modest, but very clean and nice. Hans really shines in the kitchen. We had four dinners prepared by Hans. Every meal was excellent and beautifully presented, truly a gourmet experience in a very comfortable and congenial atmosphere.

The only small negative for us at Andenrose was the curvature of the mattresses, which we joked were "contra terremoto" as it would be hard for an earthquake to dislodge you in the night!

Andenrose was really a great experience for us and we highly recommend it.

We wanted to stay at Hotel Andenrose (www.andenrose.com) for 3 nights - but we extended to 7 nights... Hans, the owner gave us the feeling we are the only guests and we felt very, very welcome. The food of his Swiss cook was just delicious and very affordable (dinner menu with starter, main and desert for 7'100 Chiliean pesos (about 14 USD)).

We did a lot of activities from this place - rented bikes to hot Spa or for going to beautiful and remote lagunes, took the local bus for going for a hike into a national park - or just relaxed at the place.

It is a remote place, yes, but definately worth the money. Especially as everybody gets perfect care from Hans and his crew. Many places could learn from this place...

Lovely place to stay, fantastic food, Hans and staff very friendly with great local knowledge. We arrived via local transport and wished we had hired a car as getting around was difficult... with your own transport I would certainly recommend Andenrose.
