We had a great time at the Railay Village Resort. The deluxe room was really nice and there's also a beautiful garden stretched out over the whole property.
The reception staff was very nice and helpful. The staff of the restaurant was ok too and in the meantime, after staying in other hotels in Thailand, I must say there service was good ;-)
My recommendation: If you decide to stay with this hotel and you need transportation from the Krabi airport to Railay, book it with the Village resort. It's not expensive was such a smooth transport, from the pick up at the airport by bus to Ao Nang, changing to a longtail boat there taking us to Railay Beach, then hotel staff brought our luggage from the longtail boat (yes, you ll get wet feet getting off, since there's no pier) directly to our room. I must say I was very impressed by all of that! Note: Booking the speedboat option is a waste of money since even with the Longtail boat it's only about 15 min. Take the Longtale option, it's good value.
The beach is gorgeous but unfortunately there will be many day tourists arriving and leaving by longtail boat and that makes quite some noise... I'd recommend Railay, it's beautiful, but be aware there's not much to do. We only stayed there 2 days and I felt that was just perfect. There were many other places/beaches we wanted to see.

The resort is technically 'on the beach' but the rooms are not so dont expect sea views etc. That said, railay west is pretty small and most resorts are built in a similar manner ie access from the beach but rooms built more inland. Restaurant food is so-so but has a good location bang on the beach (does not serve alcohol).

Rooms were quite nice and spacious - our jacuzzi was a disappointed as it spewed very stinky water! There is direct access from the beach to railay east which has some more lively eating/drinking options

We sayed here for 5 nights in December 2013. Stayed in a jacuzzi villa, near the curvy pool, about a minute or 2 to walk to the beach.

The welcome was very friendly and efficient, we arrived in the hottest part of the day, dripping with sweat after our journey but were soon established in our villa and clean and cool again.

Spent time on the beach and snorkling, early morning was best for this due to the heat. The North end is best for seeing fish.

Both pools were lovely, preferred the curvy one due to certain other guests 'reserving' space at the other even when they were gone for several hours. Both are surrounded by trees so easy to find shade.

Had breakfast at the restaurant every day. Buffet was good and ommelettes, etc. are cooked to order. Had dinner there one night and found it much better than the Railay Bay along the beach, though not as good as some of the cheaper places at Railay East. No alcohol is sold but you can bring your own and they'll happily provide glasses. Service was always with a smile.

Thought the whole place was very clean and well maintained, villa, pools, restaurant, grounds. Loved the jacuzzi for cooling down (it can also be hot if you want).

Waited on the beach every night but only saw one of the famous sunsets during our stay, worth waiting for though.

Will stay here again if we come back to Railay.

The rooms in this fantastically located resort are exceptionally good and well worth the price tag charged – we booked through Andaman Adventures and got a deal on this as part of a lengthy tour of the region, which turned out to be the best holiday we have ever had since our back-packing days. Back then we had 3 months to bum around Thailand and Indonesia, this time was very different, 4 star instead of no star and 3 weeks not 3 months, plus we spent way more on 3 weeks than we did on 3 months a decade ago. Difficult to say which was the best holiday, the back-packing beach-bumming trip when we both felt as free as birds, or the luxury trip round the region we recently took and of which the Railay Village was a highlight.

We arrived on a private boat transfer, beachfront to beachfront, from our resort on Koh Yo Noi, which was organized by our travel agent - we stopped off en route to check out Koh Hong for a snorkel and kayak, plus they have those big lizards there to admire, and a big lagoon for swimming in and generally gawping at (it is a very beautiful island).

The breakfasts at this resort were acceptable and the lunches OK (I can only comment on the western food) but the food in the evenings was really not that great, we only ate once on the resort and after chatting with other guests round the pool, all of whom agreed that the dinners are bad, we ate out. This wasn’t really a big deal though, as there are enough better places within a short stroll to make the lack of good dinners a serious issue – you do wonder why they don’t get their act together on this issue though, it’s not as if the poor food is a secret, this fact is plastered all over Tripadvisor.

The hotel is incredibly beautifully located on the west beach, right bank smack in the middle, so gets amazing views, especially at sunset. The restaurant is located on the beachfront so you can admire the scenery while eating your poor dinner or drinking the cheap beer you are allowed to buy in from the local minimart (the place is muslim - run so there is no booze on the menu).

Room Tip: If you go for the hotel rooms at the back, try to get a room on the second level (top) on the right...

We have stayed here 2 years in a row a have been very satisfied on both occasions. It is very well located, very quite compared to the other resorts, have a nice pool. The rooms are a little old now a the internet connection is not very good, but the service makes up for it

I spent 5 nights at Railay Village Resort & found the accommodation really spacious and quite luxurious. My poolside room was very large, with a big bathroom with shower and bath. No shortage of hot water. Good aircon. Clean and comfy - really can't fault it. Stunning pool with loungers. The pool does tend to attract the families with children.

It's location on Railay West is also a bonus and is right on the beach. The wifi is only available in reception and in the restaurant (tables closest to reception only) which is a bit frustrating but it worked well. Overall, a really pleasant stay.

Definitely one of the best hotels i have ever stayed in,
Everything was just perfect.
first the amazing big rooms and the beautiful pool and hotel surrounding.
Secondly, The staff was very kind and helpful, we had a problem with our DVD, and within two seconds someone already came to fix it.
The breakfast was really nice too.
The best thing is that perfect location on railay West, do not book hotel wich located on railay east.
Highly recommended!
