“amazing location, fantastic villa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

this was a high light of our trip.
when checking in were upgraded to a villa. beautiful place. quite clean.
only negatives i can think of is that some of the staff didnt seem super friendly.. but this was more grounds keepers etc.. and it didnt really affect us. the cleaning girls were nice and the check in desk was helpful. also, the pool in the back had issues and was out of service and murky green..
but, hey its about the beach in west railay!
also the restaurant manager at breakfast was super helpful and genuine. some people complained in other reviews about the place being muslim and not being able buy or order booze. whatever, there is a walking street, so if you are smart you stock your fridge at check in with singha and song sam , and dine out in other spots. flame tree restaurant is great!
over all, great place great stay for 3 days.

Room Tip: go to flametree restaurant and have green mango salads and coconut smoothies at sunset. delicious...

The surliness of the front office staff was left behind as we were led to our room back near the pool. Rooms were large, comfortable, and pleasing. We had good maid service and none of the problems we read about in other TA reviews.
Wherever you stay on either East or West Railay be sure to head to the West beach for the sunset scene.
No alcohol available at this property. We had breakfast at the hotel each day and it was pleasant, serviceable, but unremarkable.

If you have never been to Railay beach, it is important to learn that accomodations are very limited. Therefore, customer service standards can be low.

The hotel has a nice set up, and it is comfortable and clean with big comfy beds. The restaurant is mediocre, but choices are very slim on either side of Railay.

We left feeling that the service and attention could have been higher considering the price. At least it is on the nice side of Railay, I would avoid staying on the east side - but take advantage of their restaurant and bar options.

The hotel itself looks old and obviously needs to be repaired. No alcohol in the restaurant but you can buy it in the nearby bar or mini mart. Personnel doesn't look friendly, especially in the restaurant. Understanding of English is very poor. No long-chairs on the beach, though the beach itself is not that bad. Crowds of tourists who come for one day trip to Railay. The only real good thing was spa - very friendly, professional and at good price (but a lot of mosquito in the spa area).

Room Tip: Pool area, upper floor

I have heard people boasting about the railay beach and i was surprised how poor it is. The resort itself has average food, staff who are unfriendly. The restaurant itself was a letdown.
Not worth the money.

Minutes to the beach but away from the noise.
Sizable room.
Large bed, decent A/C and shower.
Let down by the Jacuzzi
Food was average.
Helpful reception, decent prices for booking snorkeling day-trips
Spa shop looked terrible

This hotel is an absolute rip off. The service is shocking, they are rude and treat you like they are doing you some kind of huge favour by allowing you to stay in their hotel...we were greeted at the front desk by a rude lady who didn t even want to show us our room, half way to the room she passed the key onto another guy and rudely told us to go with him. The power cut out at 4am every morning and when it came on 20 minutes later all the lights in the room turned on and the aircon reset to 13 degrees, so we hardly got any sleep for our entire stay. The bathroom was dirty and looked like it had never been cleaned, the maid didn t replace any of the soap or other amenities which were used each day. The hotel staff shouted loudly to each other right outside our room at about 6am most mornings. The breakfast is terrible. The list could go on...I would seriously recommend that you reconsider if you are thinking of staying at this hotel... this hotel is a 2 star hotel with 5 star prices.
