“Don't just think about it, do it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2010

Even without it's history and proximity to the garden at Sissinghurst, the Farmhouse is a beautiful stay in its own right. The rooms are exquisite, the beds the most comfortable you can imagine, breakfast and dining room superb and the host Sue is welcoming, down to earth, friendly and most helpful. Looking out of the window at all the beauty and hisory of Sissinghurst on the doorstep was just wonderful, I only wish I had been able to stay longer. It is advisable to hire a car, or book a tour guide for the stay in Kent as it would be a bit difficult to visit the gardens and sights without transport. Sue is able to help with recommendations for tour guides and this is the option I would take next time I visit.

Thank you Sue for your wonderful hospitaliy (and the Ginger cakes!)
Denise Forrest

My girlfriend and I stayed 1 night on a Saturday. The owners Sue and Frasier are v friendly and helpful. They made our stay memorable in every way as did Inca their dog.
Don't get me wrong this is by no means the cheapest place to stay, but you don't stay in a Castle Farmhouse because it is cheap!
When we first arrived we were made tea and cakes and in the evening we were driven to a local pub for food by Frasier. These small touches added to our stay.
We stayed in Hareplain and had views of the garden and castle. The room was beautiful, clean, and the beds v comfortable. The breakfast was yummy as well.
The building is stunning and is next door to Sissinghurst Castle, which is well worth a visit.. We used our stay to visit local vineyards and castles.
I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough for a treat or special occasion.
We hope to be back soon.

An excellent place from which to explore Sissinghurst and Kent. It's a National Trust building, lovingly furnished by the proprietors. Clean, comfortable with great breakfasts and friendly service. Well worth treating yourself.

This is an old house within the grounds of Sissinghurst Castle. The house has recently been resored and the furnishings and decor are lovely. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and gave a very warm welcome and delicious breakfast. The only real drawbacks to this hotel are that it is about a 25 min walk across fields to the nearest pub/restaurant and taxis aren't easy to come by so you need to bring a torch and appropriate footwear if you want a drink! Great place for a romantic getaway.

The Sissinghurst Castle Farmhouse offers exceptional, high quality B&B accommodation with all mod cons you would expect to find in a luxury hotel. I stayed overnight before attending a gardening course in the area and was made to feel extremely 'at home' by Sue who sat with me and chatted over a lovely tray of afternoon tea. The location is superb and makes it very easy to enjoy the Sissinghurst garden at it's most tranquil towards the end of the day before it closes. The whole house has been beautifully renovated and decorated with tasteful soft furnishings. My room was lovely and had a fantastic walk in shower. The options for breakfast were excellent including juices, a tasty smoothie and a refreshing fresh fruit salad which was perfect for someone like me who prefers a healthier start to the day. Cooked options were also available and also artisan bread and local preserves. A real find in an area where good hotels are scarce so I'll definitely be returning in the future with my husband so that we can visit the winery at Chapel Down and also to see the Sissinghurst garden during the summer months.
