“It's all right...I guess”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Taking photos was quite nice...overall, I enjoyed being there. It was just really dull and lacking activity, I expected much more from a film city. It definitely has the potential to be much more than what it is now.

“Film City, Zikreet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Film City is for those who seek a light adventure and a little bit of exploring. I think it is best for photograph afficionados and Doha outdoor lovers. Rough roads all the way to the Film City and should be for off road cars only. The journey from the main road takes a while so pack some liquids, food and entertainment. Be extra sure you have a guide with you, not many people go there so there are literally no passers by to ask. Another caution, make sure your car has a full gas tank. Lastly, the caretakers are friendly and imagine them living in such isolated conditions, it's great if you can give them a little something like we did though its not obligatory.

“A great desert adventure destination.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Zekreet peninsula officially called Ras Albruq is an amazing place about an hour West of Doha. Once you get to the village of Zekreet head N-NW through the beautiful jebels, cliffs and valleys until you find the Desert city film set on the horizon. Exploring the set is a fun hour and having shai with the care takers and learning about them makes everyone's day.

After you leave the city drive about 2 kilometers N to the mystery village which is a village of rock huts on the cliffs of a valley. Also part of the film set complex.

Enjoy the views, the beach and the film sets.

Don't forget to stop to watch the kite surfers on the beach near Zekreet village, stop at the ruin of Zekreet fort and stop to see the camels in the village.

You can make it to the film studio in a sedan if you stay on the graded surfaces. If you get off of the graded tracks you may need 4WD.

Enjoy. We sure have on several occassions.

“Zekreet, Film City and the Oasis”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

Zekreet is a nice village... but new construction are changing its atmosphere.
The Film City is a nice fake village to visit once only.
The beautiful natural Oasis has been destroyed when the Film City has been built.
The coast and the see still remain natural.
That area was so beautiful and amazing till ten years ago, but now is changing in worst.

“Zikrit Desert”

Hard to find the location as no proper signage provided. Helpful tips: don't be shy to ask anybody nearby, and most important, fill up your fuel tank.
