We stayed 3 nights at La Casa, unfortunately our bags were lost by Lion Air (Don't fly with them!) and we didn't get them back until our last day. The staff at La Casa were incredible and without their help and translating for us on the phone to Lion Air, I don't think we would have ever seen our bags again! The room was hotel standard, for a great value price. The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed, and we would definitely stay here again.

We stayed 5 nights at La Casa. It was a relaxing and quiet place to end our Indonesian adventure.

The family who run the place became our friends. They looked after us well and spent time chatting with us. They were kind and generous. Their daughter is adorable and ran around saying hello to guests, laughing all the time.

All the rooms are located in their manicured garden. The rooms were very nice - modern, clean and spacious. It was very homely. Breakfast was served on the patio outside our room. As soon as we got up, breakfast was made for us.

Although it's a little out of town (4kms), it was peaceful. The quiet end of the beach was just across the main road. With their 3 guard dogs, we felt very safe. Even they became friendly with us.

We were so relaxed here, we didn't want to leave!

We originally wanted to stay for 3 nights but extended our stay as we loved this place so much.

La Casa is situated about 4kms out of town but it is very cheap and easy to get into the main area by bemo (5,000 rupiah per person) and it is in a nice secluded street, so very quiet at night time.

I think what makes it so special is the fact that the husband & wife team (and their gorgeous 2 and a half year old daughter) make the place come to life and treat you like you are back at home again.

There is a wonderful breakfast every morning with some strong local Lombok coffee to get you going every morning and you do get asked during the day if you want any more tea or coffee. The rooms are very spacious and clean.

It is a great place to use as a base and not too far from the hustle and bustle from Senggigi tourist area,

They also can make you meals on request as there is not a huge amount of western food choice close by.

We were very sad to leave this place and was very impressed as they made you feel so welcome!

Homestay: Incredibly warm, nice and loving people. They were so generous with their love for us. They have a beautiful baby girl, who constantly kept us company with her laughter. Rooms are in decent condition. The nights in lombok are very cool. Security is maintained by 3 dogs, all named 'Gula' which means sugar. Do not worry about the dogs, they are very friendly and keep to themselves.

*Tip: Try to arrange for tours with the homestay itself. They would have a better sense of things*

Location: Located within a peaceful hindu village, plenty of opportunities to see daily farm life and interact with the villagers. A hindu temple is located at the end of the village on hill - breathtaking panoramic of the village. Try the village Pork Stay (Sate Babi). Do note that plenty of dogs (friendly and tamed) roam this village.

To Do: The beach is a short walk from the main road (cut through hotel jayakarta). Do not miss the evening horse racing which happen along the beach. Place your bets! A lot of fishermen and boatmen park their boats there. Do ask for a fishing trip :) In addition, lombok is also popular for its stick-fighting competition, known as Peresean.

If you intend to do a sasak village tour, please make sure to ask beforehand that you want to see proper Sasak culture, arts & crafts. I saw a village in Senaru which was disappointingly bland. We saw everything in 10mins! Try Bayan Village. Earthquakes tremors might be common, given we were within the vicinity of Mt Rinjani.

Taxi: Cheaper to take a motorbike taxi. Should cost you 10k per pax to and fro from the port to La Casa Homestay.

Town: Many great eateries at the main town center - known as Jln Plaza Senggigi. Do check out a local celebrity - Mr Surdirman who owns Sudirman Antiques located at the town centre. A pioneer in protecting lombok art & culture. He has a fantastic smile!!

Nice, very helpful hosts, a french guy who lives in indo for 20 years and his javanese wife. They were very helpful to give us information about the area. Very clean and cosy rooms with a lovely garden and terrace. Perfect for a tranquil stay for a few days in west lombok, next to a hindu village. To go to senggigi you best take a bemo or taxi.

I am and Australian student staying here at homestay La Casa for the past 4 weeks while I finish a language course.

I have travelled through many countries over the years and have never found a family as welcoming as this one.

The homestay is in a perfect location close to shops, restaurants and the beach. La Casa is slightly out of the main tourist town of senggigi, which in my opinion, only adds to it peacefulness because Senggigi can quickly become overwhelming with the usual sellers and local cons/touts. At night there is a security guard on watch even though the homestay is nestled amongst a peaceful Hindu village.

The owner, his wife and there workers, all greet me every day with a welcoming smile, a friendly conversation, and a helpful persona. Both the owner and his wife have a marvellously cheeky personality that will keep you chatting for hours. Their daughter is absolutely gorgeous and if you’re lucky she may even do a little dance for you.

I could not suggest anywhere else than here to stay for a trip to Lombok La Casa is a must. its cheap a great location and family atmosphere, Enjoy your stay ☺.
