“Location, location, location for a taste of Lombok”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

This older hotel has a mature extensive gardens, the sights and sounds of the ocean from seaside rooms, and a nearby art market. Book a seaside room (older but clean & comfy) for a view of the water, proximity to the beach, & a fantastic porch where you can enjoy both the sunrise and sunset (location!). And the Art Market is only a short stroll down the beach. The sandy beach with shady trees is patrolled by local community guards who keep vendors at bay. There is active coral and the snorkeling was quite good directly in front of the hotel's beach-side restaurant. There is also a very reasonably priced souvenir shop (not the mini-market) on the hotel grounds, and nearby on the main road you can discover many street-side cafes. We're headed there in Aug. 2013 for a restful beach holiday.

Room Tip: Book a seaside room/bungalow for a great view but away from the seaside restaurant that sometimes pl...

We just stayed at the Senggigi Beach Hotel in Lombok Indonesia. Our "Sea View" room stared out at some bushes, with no ocean in site. The front and bathroom door to our room felt as if made of cardboard. The wall near the bathroom was crumbling, and even the tissue holder had begun to rust.

The reality of this beachside has-been is that pictures online mask the true reality - this is an old and worn down hotel.

We ate at the Italian restaurant near the water on the hotel grounds, and were served stale bread. The chef's recommendations were bland.

The staff is perfectly courteous, but the entire facility is so desperate for a capital renovation that you will overlook their decorum as you wonder when they are going to fix this place up.

This hotel has been my all time favorite for some reasons: the affordable price, the great location it has, the majestic sunsets it tends to have at its private beach, its awesome by the beach cafe with great live music,, and super friendly staff... The staff always recognize me everytime i flee here with a pile of work.. It is really like a second home to me :-)

This hotel has a great location with a nice beach and good restaurants. The check in was perfunctory, and upgrades were hard to come by.The grounds are lovely, but the rooms are dark and dated and the bathroom in our beach bungalow looked like a public toilet ---with dingy white tiles and an old sink and fixtures! No internet access in the rooms, so we had to take our laptop to the beach bar where we could surf the internet while overlooking the ocean. It was quiet during our first day at the hotel, but the next day a huge group of people arrived from Java, which made eating at the breakfast buffet an exercise in jockeying for position to get our food. The food, however, is outstanding. The Indonesian breakfast choices---nasi goreng, bami goreng---and even nasi kuning were mouth wateringly delicious. The Western food was plentiful and excellent as well. Anything you could desire was there---fruit, omelettes, breads and cheeses and meats as well as excellent coffee. The service was extremely friendly and every one of the servers in the breakfast area as well as the beach bar, were courteous and always smiling. Cocktails at the beach bar and watching the sun set over gunung Agung on Bali across the sea----made our evenings at this resort. They even had live music with a great band playing everything from Dire Straits to Indonesian ballads. We will come back to this resort for the breakfast buffet, but unless they refurbish the rooms, we will chose another hotel in Lombok.

The property is totally worth it. It would've been nice to have a gym. The breakfast is amazing. It's close the beach but being from Hawaii, i was not to impressed with the beach outside. It's really close to the western bars and restaraunts but quite far from all of the attractions. In retrospect, we should have stayed in Kuta and somewhere closer to MT. Rinjani. It's a good hotel but just far from a lot. If you plan on surfing or climbing Rinjani, stay somewhere closer. If you plan on just kicking it then this place is great for chill axing.

When I was stay at this hotel at the first time, it was dark already while the time was still 6 p.m. I couldn't imagine how the garden was look like. It was freaky atmosphere there. But, after changed the room for two times, I'd got nice room with all wooden floor, except the toilet area. When in the morning, the beautiful scenery rose up because all of the rooms of the hotel are in the middle of the garden, beside the private hotel beach. The garden looked so fresh and entertaining. The negative point of the hotel was just at the breakfast menu.
When I visited again on June, 2013, the overall value of the hotel, in my point of view, wasn't changed so much. It is quite good hotel, after all.

Room Tip: Pick the room that is closer with the lobby, so you don't need to walk far away.

Set in massive tropical gardens covering the whole peninsular the individual units and facilities are all well spaced out. There are two good, large pools, 3 restaurants all with delightful settings and plentiful loungers round the pools, in the grounds and on the beach. Breakfast is excellent - and served in a delightful setting, the rooms clean and well furnished, snorkeling is available off the beach and the staff welcoming and helpful.
I thoroughly recommend this resort as a place to stay and have a relaxing and enjoyable time.
