Superb environment, extremely friendly owners who helped us even to repair our bikes, great breakfast with fresh fruit and juices, nice dinner at a very low cost, very beautifull design room and hotel, very quite during the day and evening, central location to explore Bilbao and the surrounding coast, place to remember

Nestled in the countryside just south of Gernika this hotel is a great base for exploring the Basque coast. We spent two nights here as part of our Honeymoon tour of the area and absolutely loved our experience.
The owner couldn't have been more helpful, taking the time to call several restaurants for me on a Monday night when most are closed, before finding an absolute gem of a place not far from Ea-"Ermintxo". Unfeasibly good seafood and service.

Breakfast was a true highlight- ham and eggs were off the chart, and the fresh orange juice was a nice touch, as were the pastries and fresh fruit.
Beautiful and enormous family portraits adorn the hallways and the owner has a story to tell about them too. A house of great charm and character.
Our room was spacious and airy with a huge modern bathroom and powerful shower, shutters to ensure a good night's sleep and modern touches throughout.
Overall highly recommended for a rural retreat close to Gernika as a base for exploring.

We have just spent 4 nights at the Hotel Aldori on our honeymoon and I cannot speak highly enough about the hotel. The owner has worked so hard to transform his family's farmhouse into a luxury, boutique style hotel and he has done it to such a high standard without losing any of the charm and authenticity. Everything in the hotel is of the highest quality and would befit any top end boutique hotel in the UK, plus you are then served amazing fresh breakfasts with local eggs, iberian ham, bread and fruit. A real treat.

We used Aldori as a base and drove out each day to explore the amazing surrounding countryside, cliffs, fishing villages, churches and the best beaches. It is also within easy distance of Bilbao airport.

Finally, just a quick note about the owner, who could not have been more welcoming and helpful.

I would definitely recommend this hotel as a great rural hideway!
