We arrived at Didima on 09 Aug 2012. We book for two couples and never noticed on our confirmation that they have book two single Chalets far apart. On our arrival the receptionist Amanda was very helpful and friendly and we exchanged with other people so that we could have a double Chalet (Next to each other) One self-catering and one non-catering with just a door in the middle. The Chalets were far above my expectations as our experience with Parksboard places have always been a little disappointing. We stayed at 12A & 12B
However, not this time! The Chalets are very tidy and neat, well equipped with Blankets, FIreplace, Cutlery and Crockery etc The Chalets are also very spacious! . The only thing that was a little frustrating was the braai. Didima supplies Weber Braai to the Chalets but i would suggest they see that the Chalet is equipped with it before the guests arrive. Guests should not be asking for it.
Didima's Restaurant is also excellent and while a lot of people are under the impression that that they will get better quality service and food at Cathedral Peak, the very best is also available right there at the Didima Resort. Didima Resort could make a lot more money at their Kiosk if they perhaps privatice it, and have it run by someone privately. The shop is rather big and could be utilised a lot better than at the moment. Even if its only stocked with bare necessities such as Bread, Milk, Coffee, Sugar, Tea, Cold Drinks. ICE, Chips, Sweets, Cold drinks, fire lighters, Lighters, Cigarettes,
A lot of Didima's guests are sleeping at Didima and go to Cathedral Peak for other entertainment and shopping. This behaviour should be changed by the management of Didima and there are great possibilities! The place has soooooo much potential to be far more than it is at present.
We truly enjoyed the stay and will definitely visit again in future.
12A Is situated very privately. Good view.
