Casa Ana is a truly excellent base from which to explore this remote region. Anne is a very accommodating host, who really thinks hard about what is going to make you feel completely at ease in her beautiful, rambling hilltop guest house. Our group was looking for a total getaway, with plenty of hill walking, complete tranquility and great food and wine; and that was what we got. There are not too many restaurants around, but great home cooking is available, with wine available on an "honesty" system. This place comes 100% recommended for the peace and quiet junkie.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Casa Ana is a rambling 400-year-old house in the Alpujarra mountains of Andalucia. Once a family home, with a wine press, olive store, barns and a goat shed, the property was beautifully restored in 2005 in the Moorish mountain style. It provides comfortable, quiet accommodation with breakfast on the terrace and magnificent views. Relax in the garden, walk in the hills, listen to nightingales, or visit nearby Granada with its fabled Alhambra Palace. ... more less
