This is a wonderful bed and breakfast. The location is outstanding and the rooms are very clean. Most notably, the owners and the people who work at this bed and breakfast are amazingly friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. They stayed up for our late arrival, they prepared us an early breakfast, they helped us guide the car up their steep driveway. Would definitely stay here again.

Our first impression was that of a beautiful setting of an old-style country house in between a garden of trees, flowers, plants and green grass neatly cut and cared for. A nice swimming pool added to the overall very charming atmosphere of peace and relaxation - and breakfast was served right in the middle of that wonderful surroundings. Needless to mention that this destination commanded the usual kind of services and amenities of a really great hotel, however, embedded in the style of an elegant Catalonian country house.

We never shied away from asking the landlord, Mr. Tarruella for any kind of advice, was it for an excursion destination closer or more distant from the hotel, a good restaurant, and for whatever things we sought advice from a well-minded person. The service personnel was of the same kind, i.e. always friendly and supportive. A word to those interested in the local climate: it is certainly a bit warmer than in Central Europe but by far not as hot as you might expect from Spain. Combined this with Mas de Baix and we had a perfect holiday. We will definitely return ...

Prior to booking our wedding in Mas De Baix I researched everything I could online (we never visited the hotel prior to the wedding day) and read every single review I could find. They are all true! Even more, when we arrived to the hotel a day before the wedding we were absolutely ecstatic, it looked so much more beautiful than in the photos.
We spent 5 days in Mas De Baix. This hotel has a special charm about it and a very unique, cozy feel that is impossible to describe in words. You feel like a true sybarite surrounded by comfort, sipping a glass of wine in the garden - and the beautiful smell of flowers, and the stars and the gorgeous views everywhere!
The hotel owner helped us every step of the way. He is an incredibly reliable person. He patiently and meticulously answered every one of about 1000 emails we sent him and did his best to make us feel comfortable. We were very happy with the musicians and the catering services he recommended. He is a gourmet guru and you can trust his restaurants recommendations 100 percent.
His beautiful wife...She is a lady of an impeccable taste and a master florist.
The flowers, ceremony decor, my bouquet - everything was very beautiful. I didn't have to direct her at all. I just described what I liked and let the master do her job. The flowers were my favorite part, the smell of peonies and freesia will forever remind me of my wedding day.
To summarize, we spent 5 days in the hotel, all rooms booked by close family and friends. The rest of the guests stayed in the hotel nearby. The ceremony, cocktail party and reception were in the garden of Mas De Baix. It is a perfect venue for an intimate wedding and you can completely trust the owners' recommendations.
Few words about Cabrils. It is a charming little town, very picturesque, quiet, cozy with plenty of great restaurants. You can always find something good to eat even on Sundays. It is about 20 minute drive from Barcelona center. You can also easily reach Barcelona center and the airport by public transport: bus stops right next to Mas De Baix and for 2 euro takes you to the train station in nearby city Vilassar De Mar (less then 10 minutes). Train to Barcelona, Placa Catalunia costs under 5 euro and takes about 40 minutes. To get to the airport by train is also easy, costs about the same, you just need to change trains at Barcelona Sants station. Traveling from Barcelona airport to Mas De Baix by public transport would take about 1.5 hour (40 minutes drive).
The beach in Vilassar De Mar is very nice and clean (although it is close to the train tracks).
Overall, staying in Mas De Baix is ideal for relaxation, romance or self-search, but you can easily explore Barcelona as well.

This is a really charming place with a very friendly atmosphere. Mr. Francesc Tarruella is a friendly a helpfull person who even speaks english and that is very unusual in Spain especially in Cabrils where we didn't meet other people who speak a foreign language. The rooms and the garden are well kept in shape. Clean rooms and a clear swimmingpool. The breakfast is good but we would have liked it if there was some more bread to cut by ourself and a pot with coffee but these are minor wishes that are hardly worth to mention. Cabrils has several (cheaper) restaurants. We liked La Concordia and Pizzeria the L'hors because of the lively atmosphere where a lot of locals came together. We were not very enthusiastic about Bodega but that is a matter of taste. Conclusion: Mas de Baix is Top of the bill!
