“Nice stay.. :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

It was a nice experiance to stay at this hotel. It is a new one in the area and one of 2 hotels in Mandarmoni having electricity connections. The rooms were large and spaciaous, service was very good and the swimming pool was awsome.

Room Tip: Choose the ground floor as hotel ammusments are all in ground floor

location: its not on the beach like rose valley and others but is just 10 mins walk to the sea beach.

room: big, clean nice and beautiful with all expected amenities.

bathroom: big with a nice bathtub.

swimming pool: deep outdoor pool, not a fancy shape but pretty good for swimming.

the hotel was absolutely new when we visited so everything seemed very fresh and nice.

staff: very sweet and polite.

food: the food that u get in the restaurant is very very tasty.

overall it was a very good experience.

Kings Crown in the first hotel when you enter Mandarmoni. I booked the room from Kolkata. Two days of vacation with the family was fine here. Instead of the sea, we spent hours in the swimming pool, even in the evening. We liked the size of the rooms - just huge. There is a lawn and some activities for children but missed the view of the sea as I booked rooms on the swimming pool side.

Room Tip: There is a new wing coming up beside the beach. Those who want rooms near the beach should book only...

We stayed for a night at this hotel when we went on a trip from the office. We were a big group of 52 people.
This hotel's website boasts of several facilities, like private approach to beach, multi-cuisine restaurant etc. In reality, the so-called private approach is nothing but a narrow gully along under-construction houses and through tons of construction material. The beach that this so called private approach takes you to, is dirty and stinks with the smell of 'shutki maach' ( fish that is processed by drying it under sun...basically, it stinks like anything). In general, the hotel stinks all throughout the morning. I never saw where the multi-cuisine restaurant was, but they could not provide us with ice; not even when we told them that we'll need it after 2-3 hours. It looked like they just dont have a fridge. The room we were given was spacious, well-made, but it had no towels and only 1 double-blanket for a 4-bedded room. Also, there was no fresh soap and half-used soaps and empty shampoo sachets left by the previous guests were still scattered in the bathrooms.
As far as location is considered, this is almost the first hotel on the way to the main beach at mandarmani, and it might take you upto half-an hour on foor to reach the main beach.
We had told them previously the menu we want for lunch, and they had promised that they will be able to arrange. But at lunch, we soon realised that the food was short, and those of us who came in a little late for lunch did not get an item or two in the menu, as it had finished.

In conclusion, I'd say this is an ideal hotel that you would love to recommend to anyone who you truly hate. you can rest assured the hotel will make their trip a nightmare, and they'll feel like a fool to have paid so much for such crap.

The hotel outside is still under construction. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are good but no inter room connectivity . Even foe a glass of water u need to walk to the reception and order. The pool is nice but very inside. Also the overall facilities are very shabby an no upto date . Could b much better. Should not be a very good option for tor stay .

The Hotel is currently under construction and will remain the same for some more time. Rooms on one side of the hotel have been constructed. But construction debris is yet to be cleaned. Unlike other hotels which are right on the beach or have look out, you will need to either walk down 10 mins to an empty beach, or drive 5 mins to a beach with atleast some shops and people. It is definitely not a 3 star hotel but more of a inn or lodge, I had booked the super delux room. Among the amenities mentioned in the site the following were available, air-conditioning(Not powerfull enough for the room), living room(Very large and spacious but unclean with dust in rooms and pegion droppings in the balcony), cable television(24 Inch TV was too small for the room with grainy picture), balcony/sit out(No Chairs provided), dining table, sofa unit, study table(No chairs, :) ), shower area and an attached washroom(No exhaust and ventilators to towards the lobby ) with a bath tub(Water flow not enough to make it useful), hot & cold running water(In Room geyser not working) and bathroom toiletries(2 Medimix & 2 Sunsilk Saches). The following amenities were not available but mentioned in the hotel description: DVD player, intercom facility, direct dial telephone, snack basket, fruit basket, refrigerator, iron & ironing board, daily newspaper, safe deposit locker, piped/channel music, fireplace, room heater. Upon complaining they reduced the price of two 2 teas(Rs 100), from the bill. there is not proper parking space or gardens as construction material is laying everywhere. The Swimming pool was very dirty and did not feel like taking a dip. Food is expensive(100 plus price of snacks, 200 plus for any dish, 300 plus for fish) and at par with any actual 3 star property, but the quality leaves much to desire. At best food can be compared to street food, On ordering fish the staff repeatedly pushed to order chicken, which we eventually had to do. Fried rice tasted more like boiled rice mixed with vegitables and chicken(They did not have shrimp so could not make mixed fried rice). Also it took ages(1Hr in morning and 2 hrs during dinner) to come back with the food Considering there are not enough places to eat at Mondarmoni, so hotel food remains the only choice. There was frequent power cuts, keeping an emergency light is a must. The Staff is polite and helpful, but will try to gather sympathy about their low wages to get whatever they can out of you. It is the first hotel when you enter Mondarmoni but chances are you will give this hotel a miss if you try to book on the spot. The hotel experince did not make my trip. Blatant lies by the hotel, for close to 3000 bucks you are far better with Rose Valley. You can get this kind of experience for 1200 on any of the other lodges at Mondarmoni.

Room Tip: Pictures in online booking sites belong to other properties of the chain, this one is still under co...
