“Big Cat Spotted in Devon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

What a wonderful place to stay, Doreen and Richard made us welcome from the moment we arrived. The apartment is equal to any 5 star hotel and better than many cottages we have stayed in. The breakfasts live up to all the reviews and Doreen caters for every taste. Having traveled in a classic Jaguar Richard and I found common interest in classic cars. I can honestly say we were looked after like VIP guests, and enjoyed many conversations with Doreen and Richard as though we were old friends. We shall certainly return and we would recommend Brickmoor for either a short or long stay. The station is a bonus as you can travel around by train on a Rover ticket which is available from the conductor, this allows car free travel days and a pint by the sea. The Mare and Foal was a great place to have a drink and enjoy a fresh cooked meal. We enjoyed a good nights sleep every night in this peaceful and beautiful setting. See you again Doreen and Richard. from Kevin and Donna.

This place is a wonderful retreat for a weekend or longer.
We stayed last weekend the standard of food and cooking, presentation and service is wonderful, breakfast is better than some of the best 5* hotels we have stayed in
The accommodation is very comfortable with your own private deck. It is secluded, quiet and very restful.
Very welcoming and friendly but discreate people.
We loved it and would recomend it without doubt.

This is a lovely place however long you want stay and it is so peaceful. A good nights sleep is guaranteed. The setting is marvellous, gardens lovely with plenty of wildlife. We saw pheasants, squirrels a woodpecker and plenty of other wild birds whilst eating our breakfast and the breakfast menu offers plenty of yummy choices. The apartment is excellent and equipped with all you could want. Your own deck is a great place for having a drink or lunch. Doreen and Richard are such lovely people and they made us feel very welcome together with Rumpole their cat.

This is the best of both worlds with an excellent breakfast and self contained cottage which is warm and comfortable and very generously equipped. Everything about our stay was perfect.
Thank you Doreen & Richard

Brickmoor is ideal for peace and quiet, and getting away from it all. We used as self-catering, rather than B&B, and Doreen totally respected our desire for some privacy. The accomodation is lovely, beautifuly decorated with quality furnishings, a very comfortable bed and a shower to die for! The lounge area is very cosy and relaxing with a good selection of films, books, music and games available, which was very appreciated in a week of rain! Ideal for a romantic break.
