“Sheer bliss!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

Its a little piece of heaven which I'd recommend to any couple looking to fully unwind and relax (the hotel does not take bookings for under 16s). The hotel has it all and we cant fault it - it leads directly onto the beach (stunning view), plenty beds around the many pools and down to the shore line - lifeguards are employed. From the moment you enter you feel welcome, cleanliness is evident throughout the hotel, daily linen change, great rooms with air con second to none and extremely comfortable and huge beds. Efficient local staff cater for all needs under the trusty guidance of their manager who takes great pride in this hotel - he cares and it shows. The spread provided at mealtimes is to be applauded: fresh, tasty food, great variety and frequently replenished - other restaurants within the hotel offer specific Asian, Greek and Italian menu's. Gym is well equipped - sufficient to counteract overindulgence at mealtimes! (Gym pool offers resistance exercise should you have an injury to recover from). Then there's the cocktail bar... entertainment changes from day to day, nothing too overpowering, just encourages you to chill out some more. Bar staff interact and provide a great customer experience - Vasilas has 'the experience' , Stelios 'the beauty' ... 'the beast' however comes to life in the form of the Mojito - what a kick! We're already planning our return and we haven't even left yet.

Room Tip: We opted for a junior suite with sea view - most rooms have a sea view, great sight to wake up to an...

I often read reviews and have found them very helpful, having just come back from a week break here has encouraged me to write my first review, I cannot fault this hotel, it ticks all the boxes and some, I won't repeat others comments but will say that any negative feedback must come from unfortunate travellers with over the top expectations, we travelled with reasonable expectations and these were exceeded in all areas. Thank you hotel kalliston.

Just got back from a week in this fantastic hotel. We were allocated a swim-up room (which we hadn't booked) and were only strides away from the pool and beach. All the staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The location is stunning and the hotel food was better than any we have experienced anywhere.
The only drawback is the price of drinks and snacks, so if you get chance go for the all-inclusive option its well worth it.
We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: swim-up rooms are ace.

Just got back from a wonderful two week holiday at the Atlantica Kalliston. Check-in was very smooth with refreshing drinks on arrival. We were up-graded to an executive suite which was lovely and kept spotless. Robes and slippers provided, towels changed every day and frequent linen change. Fruit on arrival and bottled water replenished every day. The resort is lovely and very relaxing with great pools right next to the beach. Service in the restaurants and bars was very good. The waiters and all the staff are lovely and very friendly and respectful. The entertainment was low-key but very good and we enjoyed it very much.

The food was very good with a large selection of different dishes and the house wine perfectly good.

The only criticism would be that there should be hand sanitizers provided on entrance to the restaurants, especially the buffets.

All in all we had a great time and hope to return very soon.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are well worth the extra.

Stayed at the Kalliston for a week from 21st - 28th May 2013 - Found this to be a lovely hotel, in a delightful setting right next to a sandy beach. Had one of the cheaper rooms, but it was plenty big enough with a lovely bathroom, complete with bathrobes and slippers. We stayed half board but added a pre-paid beverage package as we found bar prices a little pricey and this worked out to be good value, particularly as we enjoyed trying out lots of different cocktails! We found the food to be excellent with plenty of choice to suit all tastes - we both now have to look to losing the weight that we've put on from the holiday! The staff were all very friendly and helpful although the lobby bar service was somewhat slow which could definitely be improved upon. Evening entertainment was fairly low key - the resident duo were pretty good, particularly the male singer, but the other acts we found to be rather poor. All in all we had a lovely holiday and would definitely recommend this hotel

From arrival at Chania airport our trip was fantastic. The 20 minute journey to the hotel was an added bonus. The 1st impression on arrival was beyond our expectations, the welcoming staff, welcome drink and fantastic room with sea view and swim up pool together with the wonderful choice and quality of food exceeded all our expectation. Cannot praise this hotel enough, also thank you to the resident entertainment duo 2 Diamonds, good job your doing guys. If you're considering Crete for your holiday destination, book into this hotel, you will not be disappointed. Got a fab on the doorstep beach too.

Room Tip: This is a low rise hotel so all rooms are good

My partner & I stayed here from 21st-28th May. On arrival we were greeted with drinks on the terrace which was lovely with fab views! We were then shown to room 123 which was a suite with its own pool and sunbathing area. We were very surprised and loved the room! Easily the best room we have stayed in by far!
Towels were changed daily, the room & hotel suroundings were kept extremely clean and tidy.
We stayed on a half board basis, breakfast was lovely plenty of choice and really tasty yogurt! Evening meals were ok, not a massive choice but there was always a carvery meat which was yummy!
Drinks were quite pricey but thats to be expected at a 5* resort!
We booked an excursion to Ellefanisi which was terrible would not reccommend! We were on the coach for 8 hours in total!!
My only quarms would be that there is no 'hotel guide' in the rooms so if you dont know how to work the air con or how the drinks system works at dinner you have to keep enquiring!
Entertainment wasn't up to much either but as it is an adults only hotel we found that we were part of a handful of younger guests (22-26).
Free wi-fi throughout the hotel & in rooms which was handy!
Gorgeous beach, all staff friendly and helpful!
The resort is around a 15 min drive from chania town - taxis cost around 8-9 euros, we went almost every night as chanis is such a gorgeous picturesque place!
Overall i would reccommend the hotel! We had a very very good holiday and didnt want to come home!! Weather was gorgeous despite being a little windy some days but we just sunbathed on our private terrace and chilled out in our own pool!! (See photos)
I would rate the hotel 4* as there as small things that could be improved!
