“Great for lunch, but avoid on Zorba night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

We often went to Sciroccos's for lunch after a morning on the beach. The greek salad was great and the beer nice and cold. This has boosted the points a bit as the waitress was really helpful.

However, when we went for the Zorba night on a Sunday, the whole place was full with a Scandinavian tour group who had booked the whole restaurant out. We were told it would be a 5minute wait. We had to ask the waiter for drinks after 15 minutes. 40 minutes later as the tour group were being brought their main courses we moved on. If you want to go to the Greek night, check ahead or get there early to try to keep a table.

“Bad service, beautiful sunset.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

Yes, it's practically ON the beach, but so are many of the other restaurants nearby. This restaurant did not live up to its potential. The waiter was not polite from the second we walked in. He might be tired of young people picking the cheapest off the menu, and we might look like some. But when he realised we actually prioritise spending our money on food and wine it was too late. We didn't get any bread, like everyone else did, there was no smiling involved, and asking for the dessert menu we were almost about to leave. Toilets were in a backyard and dirty. The sunset was beautiful, but not enough to come back.

“Great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

It is right on the beach but as you will find in most of the tavernas in Crete the menu does not offer much variation. But that said, the food is good, they made some great drinks. Its a nice place, its just not knock your socks off.
