“Close to the beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2014

Veronica Hotel is a small hotel with small rooms. The shower is extremely small and you have to hold the shower in your hands because there's no hanging device. We found out that this is normal in Greece, just be prepared. Not all rooms have balconies, some have an indoor porch. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast contains of bread, greek yoghurt, cornflakes and milk, coffee and juice. The beach is at the end of the street, wich is great. The swimmingpool is good, there aren't a lot of people laying by the swimming pool so you hava plenty of room by the pool and in the pool.

We had a great stay here, Veronica was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were basic and good, we had a problem with our air con but the staff fixed it before we left - it wasnt a major. The pool area is fantastic - we were in the pool every day! The location is perfect - it is just back from the main road, close to many restaurants and markets, and is within walking distance to 4 amazing beach lagoons/bays. We have contuined to travel around the greek islands, and these beaches were our favourites and some of the best we have seen! If we come back to Chania, we would stay here for sure!

We are just back from 1 week staying at the veronica hotel. Our family of two adults and two children aged two and six years old.
We normally holiday to all-inclusive resorts with lots of amenities for the kids, but I was walking the Samaria gorge for charity so made this a family holiday.

After reading reviews of the hotel I was slightly nervous but I have to say this hotel was truly amazing, a little hidden gem to which we will definitely be back!

We were greeted on arrival to chilled drinks – much needed after traveling with the kids in 35 degree heat!
We were greeted by a lovely happy receptionist who showed us personally to our apartment.
The apartments were very clean, chamber maids were in daily (exc Sunday) and were more than adequate for our family. The hotel was nearly full and a lot of people about however the pool itself was very quiet, so no need for us to super early to try and get a bed! Somedays we had the whole pool to ourselves which the kids loved!
Breakfast was adequate – bacon/omelettes/sausages/eggs/cereals/pastries.

This hotel is an ideal spot if looking to stay in agii apostoli – 5 minutes from beach, playpark and loads of restaurants to choose from (our favourite Pergola). And 10 mins from the supermarkets and huge toy shop, well worth a visit if you have kids (Jumbo ). If you want to venture into chania then the bus stop at the beach will take you there in 20 mins for 1e 50c.
If you have kids then a visit to golden fun city is a must, 10 minutes walk from apartments near supermarkets and is a kids heaven – consisting of soft play, giant inflatables, go karts and crazy golf.
The people of agii apostoli and probably the most friendly I have ever met! Especially with the children and for that very reason I will be returning in the future!

Stayed here a week with my son in a studio apartment in June. Great welcome at reception and shown to room which is in a semi basement, not too impressed but it was a budget holiday. Room was fine for what we needed as we would only spend nights sleeping here. Bathroom small and shower pathetic, maid service very good, beds like rocks. Breakfast was included and there was a good choice with hot and cold food so something for everyone. Staff very friendly and nice swimming pool and the beaches only a five minute walk away, plenty of tavernas, shops and takeaways all within a short walk and easy bus service to Chania (buy tickets at shops only €1.30 ew)
Family friendly resort but a bit tired and run down, better resorts to be found on Crete like Kalives.

We are currently staying at the Veronica hotel. After reading all the reviews, I must say I am very positively suprised! Hotel is very clean, staff friendly, kitchenette full equipped enough to cook a nice brunch, shower works, pool is big and there are always free parking spots at the free parking. If there has been an issue with outdated towels and bedlinen it is fixed as towels and sheets are brand new and soft. The only minus is that the beds are quite hard, but that seems to be the local style. We have a 2 piece apartment on pool level and we have a balcony in the bedroom and patio in the living room. Bedroom is on the quiet side of the hotel and very quiet and dark when the window shades are down, so we always get a good night sleep. Minimarkets and some restaurants are on the same street and they are open at least until midnight which is cool. Otherwise the area is quite quiet, not ideal for party people, but excellent for families and couples. Price / quality rate is definitely good at Veronica, I can recommend booking.

Room Tip: We asked a room which is not in the "basement" beforehand in an e-mai. It's a good id...

The apartment at Inea was light and brigh., really close to a few gorgeous bays, just through some pine trees. We had a room overlooking the street and we got all the afternoon and evening sun on the balcony, which was nice. The staff at the Veronica Hotel were lovely and we went up there( just up the road) to have drinks in the evening. The restaurant just around the corner called Talus has amazing food. My main little helpful tip is to take a little bottle of washing up liquid and a sponge for washing up!You can buy it there if you want though! It was easy to hire a car through the hotel and go exploring. It was easy to catch a bus into Chania from here. Lovely walks and wild flowers everywhere!

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the road get all the afternoon and evening sun and you can people watch!

We are young couple and were looking for relaxed and not stressed holiday. We have chosen these apartments mainly because of the great location - it is only 5 min walk from great sandy beaches (you could easily reach at least 4 of them).

The apartment is very spacious with high ceilings and 2 balconies. Although it is not much view from balconies, but it felt very private. As we went in September, we didn't see many guests and sometimes felt that we are the only ones :) The kitchen doesn't have many appliances for cooking, but you don't really need it as there are plenty nice tavernas around with very delicious food (We loved Pergola and The Farmers). The apartment is cleaned daily (except Sunday), the towels and bedding was changed every few days. We have pulled our twin beds together and cleaners realised it and made it more comfy by putting the bed sheet on top of them, so they can be more steady. The apartment is more for people with the tight budget but it serves well when you need just somewhere to sleep.

Swimming pool looked very nice, although we are not lovers of it and prefer beach.

Breakfast was nice, everyday the same, but there are hot food (sausages, bacon, eggs) and also breads, cheeses, cereals, coffee, tea, jams, butter, cookies. We have been there 13 days and has breakfast every morning and didn't get tired of it :)

We noticed there were quite few Greek guests which I found very nice.

Overall great experience and we would definitely come back! Thank you :)

Room Tip: Ask for apartments not in the basement. First floor would be amazing.
