We cannot speak too highly of the Avra. We first stayed here in August 2010 for one night on our homeward journey and booked to return this year (as it's very close to the airport). The hotel itself is comfortable and clean, close to the beach and it wouldn't be difficult to stay for a week or more.
We duly arrived on August 23rd only to realise we had made a mistake - we had booked for 24th (the day of our flight) oops!
The staff were absolutely fabulous and went out of their way to make sure we were accommodated at no extra charge whatsoever - Remember, this was OUR mistake not theirs.
All in all, fabulous place and fabulous people. We'll be back next year.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel three days. The room is small but nice and comfortable. Lovely Marina fulfilled all our requests to our satisfaction.
The hotel is in an excellent location: two minutes from the promenade and the charming beach of Perea. 15 minutes drive from the Thessaloníki's airport!

m husband and myself stayed at the hotel Avra from 19th - 23rd july. The hotel is in an ideal location 2 mins from the beach. the rooms are basic but ideal for the money. staff are very friendly and gave advice when needed. there is a restaurantl right opposite that serves home made greek dishes along with other dishes. there is a pastry shop next door for fresh breads etc , great if breakfast is not included. Greece is lovely but it is very expensive, well on parrr with the uk, so be careful. if you eat in fancy restaurants you get a fancy bill, but eat wisely and your money goes alot further.would def come back again. we travelled from bansko bulgaria as he have a ski appart there so travelled by train. it took 4 hour but was worth it as you get to see alot more of bulgaria and greece on your travels.check out our appartment for ski holidays where it is still cheap and very friendly.

This is a good smaller hotel for those who would would like to

A) holiday in Perea (very nice seaside town just outside Thessaloniki)
b) have an early flight from Thessaloniki airport ( hotel is 7 minutes by taxi)

Rooms are clean, relatively basic (though there are mini fridges in the rooms) and decent sized. Lobby is nice, and some rooms overlook the ocean. It is also good value.

Its is a family run hotel with very good service and some of the restaurants nearby are quite good. The town square comes alive in the nights and if one chooses they can take a city bus from the hotel right to downtown Thessaloniki for some sightseeing/shopping.
