“Wonderfull place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

Since everything was booked in Bisbane we ended up out of town.
This is a very modern motel and very easy to find, just off te road.
It has large rooms and is quit luxurious. The bathroom is very nice.

Great motel we were very impressed, very clean and beds were very comfortable. We only stayed the one night as we were just passing through on our way home and after the accommodation we had in Hamilton Island I must say it was a treat to stay in a place so clean. Also loved how we could leave the windows open for fresh air and not be stuffy

My two girls and I needed to stay somewhere to be closer to a dance eisteddfod for very early starts. We were checked in efficiently, advised about our options for breakfast, plus they told us we may like to check out the night before seeing we would be leaving so early on our second day. Whilst this may sound nothing out of the norm, I have experienced substandard service so often when the staff can't be bothered or haven't the foresight to tell you something that will make your stay or interaction seamless... Very friendly people at every stage. Nothing to much trouble for them..

Room Tip: If you have large heavy or awkward luggage probably should see if any ground floor rooms are availab...

This was a very nice place to stay. Staff were friendly and the breakfast great. I loved the room service for breakfast. I would like to see the menu cater for those with Celiacs (Gluten free) as one of our party suffers from this and it is handy to have Gluten Free options. I bought our own gluten free meals so it was not a major inconvenience. I like the closeness to shops and major thoroughfares. The office hours are great too. I note that only one face washer was provided for 3 people so that is the only real down side. I will stay again as we were visiting family and this motel is very handy to them.

We had a good stay at Johnson Road Motel but that was all it was - certainly nothing to attract you. It is fairly clean and comfortable [except for the extremely hard pillows]. However the advertised Four Star rating cannot be correct. There was only one face washer provided for two people, no third clean sheet on top of the blanket, rock-hard pillows with no variation to choose from, no allergy warning on the cheap liquid soap, one luggage rack for two people, very few tea bags and a note on the bed saying there would be no service for the Easter period. I had rung specifically to ask about the restaurant and was told it would be open. The web site advertises a bar and restaurant for dinner and breakfast. I cannot find anywhere on the site that says it is only available 50% of days. On arrival we were told it is only open 4 days per week and not at all at holiday times - in total this equates to about 50% of the time. And no swimming pool.

The Johnson Road motel is reasonable modern, near browns plains and is used a lot by people working on local developments and building sites. The owner may have hanged from my last visit but he was a pest. The breakfast was ok, the bed was not good unless yourmahout and the rest of the place was below par motel. They have a bar of sorts, think canteen. The nearest food is at brown plain but since they knocked down the lone pine that means pub food or burgers. There isn't much choice out this way, I'd hire a car and stay in the city which on a good run is only 30mins away. Avoid

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere
