I stayed at this hotel while pre-tripping our 2012 Tour de France tours. The location is unbeatable for seeing Le Tour - right along the stage 16 route between Pau and Bagneres. This may be France but for me the hotel felt a lot like a New England B&B complete with heavy wood panelling, a hulking fireplace, and brass keys. The hotel is a cyclist's dream with easy access to four of the most famous climbs (or 'Cols') in the Pyrenees: Sulor, Aubisque, Tourmalet and Aspin. My room (#101) was huge with a large stand-up shower. The room was clean, the bed was large and comfortable, and the sheets were crisp and smelled great. For such a small hotel, they deserve top marks for having in-room WIFI; not only fast but a strong signal as well. Although the hotel's location is great for Tour de France cycling, it is across the street from a large factory. My room faced east towards the factory and the noise was like having an idling car engine under my window all night. I could also hear my neighbours and people outside my room so if you're a light sleeper, you may want to stay elsewhere. The breakfast was average continental and I didn't try the restaurant for dinner as I arrived too late. The hotel service was friendly and efficient. We've booked the entire hotel for Spyns 2012 Tour de France trips. Despite the few drawbacks mentioned, I'm sure our clients will be thrilled.
