“amazing facilities and staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

this hotel is in a beautiful setting overlooking the fjord. The hotel itself is modern and has many places to sit and relax. the spa is modern, clean and relaxing. the bedrooms are spacious and clean. the staff are friendly and helpful. In my room there was a complementary bowl of fruit and chocolates. only problem is the hot water in the showers, there doesn't seem to be much of it at certain times of the morning especially before 7am. The food is excellent and the staff are accommodating if you have an requests. overall and great stay and I would recommend it to anyone

What is great in this hotel: the situation, the view and the quality of the food of the restaurant (though rather expensive)

This hotel does not deserve a 5* but a 3*. Some examples: when we arrived with three big bags. We asked for help (where in a a 5* this service is supposed to be given!) and ended up ourselves carrying three big bags up the stairs!!! (no elevator!!) Later we found out that there was a possibility to avoid these stairs... One day during our stay our room wasn't still not cleaned up at 6 pm! We had to call reception and they said oh we will send somebody... BTW the room was never clean anyway. 5* = service quality, some people of the staff eg at the breakfast (blond short hair lady) were unfriendly. Looking for a Romantic stay??? There are no double beds for couples!!! Only two single beds put together? Strange conception of romanticism. The bathroom does not have a bathtub and is small and very cold. Watch out! We booked a room with view on the park (more expensive) and initially they gave us a room with view of a small grass field. When we disagreed they told us "but you have a view on green"!!! After telling them we would not accept this they gave us a room with a view on the sea. This hotel is a business congres hotel (a lot of noise!!) and does not really care about private customers so watch out!

Room Tip: All rooms are furnished in the same sober design and not one has a double bed or a bathtub. The view...

Dear Fribourg

Sorry to hear your review, although I feel some points could be debated.
The hotel opened i 2008 and qualifies as a 5 star hotel according to the danish hotelorganisation HORESTA. There is a world of difference between a Four Seasons hotel and Kellers Park although both 5 star hotels. But note, that the rates are equally different.

Comparing Comwell Kellers Park to a 3 star hotel is some headline. Please tell me where these hotels are, as I will surely pay them a visit. No need to pay more for than necessary for good quality. None of the 3 star hotels I ever stayed at, had the level of service and style as our hotel.

We do offer luggage service, upon request, as most of our guests wish to carry their own luggage, as it is often in their car when checking in. Lifts are on all floors and easy to see when entering from the main building.

We have twin beds in all our rooms as they offer more flexibility . Put together for a romantic couple of apart for friends. We have bathtubs only in juniorsuites. And yes, our bathrooms are small as you will find it in any other hotel in Denmark.

I take it you have booked a room with a garden view? Theses rooms does not face an actual flower garden but a green lawn with trees. Online booking channels such as hotels.com, does not offer a free choice in word. The official name of these rooms are "Sparoom" as they are located close to the Aquaspa.

Weekdays the hotel is a conference/business hotel. Weekends the hotel is all leisure, and the only noise comes from other leisure/spa guests. 35% of our revenue comes from leisure and is growing steadily. Pretty good, when all leisure is focused in weekends only.

We try but we cannot make everyone happy. Read the other reviews to get a full overview. Comwell Kellers Park was awarded "Best holiday hotel" by Danish Travel Award 2011 (still waiting for 2012). Not because we have the biggest rooms or most luxury but because we understand that hospitality starts with ourselves.

Regards, Thomas

Super hotel with a great spa. A little cold in the beginning but they turn up the heat. Can recommend this hotel 100%.

My husband and I booked this hotel for what we had hoped would be a wonderful Spa Weekend. It was quite expensive so we had some expectations. Unfortunately we were disappointed.
The location is really nice and so are the buildings. We paid extra money to get a spa room. One thing I can tell is that they surely haven't got their 5 stars for the room standard. It is such a boring room - quite spacious, but not cosy at all. The bathroom is the worst part of it and looks so institutional - not what you would expect from a 5 star Spa hotel!
But what really upsets me is the cleaning standard. The sink was greasy, the bath was full of stains and limescale, the toilet brush was full excremental remains, the floor was greasy and full of dust in the corners and in every corner and around the mirror there were spider webs. Around the windows there were a lot of dead insects and it was just not cleaned around there.
We complained at the front desk, and they apologized and said, that they would do something about it immediately. When we got back to the room they had just cleaned it as usual and only a few of the above mentioned things had been fixed!

I can't believe that this can happen in a 5 star hotel!
If you don't care about the cleaning standard it is probably a good choice, but otherwise stay away from here!

Dear guest Holm-Soby.

Thank you for the review, although mostly complaints. The bathroom may be boring in some eyes. I would say it fits the general style of the hotel white plain white walls, glass and minimalistic in decor - modern style as the corridors, bar and restaurant. The cleaning standard of the hotel has to be in order, no excuse. I apologize for the cleaning you encountered. I hope you will contact the hotel hereafter, in order to rectify the lact of service you experienced. Fortunately, most of our guest do experience our 5 star service as it should be.

We toured Denmark for 2 weeks total and stayed in Comwell Kellers our first week. We liked it so much we wish we'd stayed there our entire 2 weeks, but we had other areas in Denmark to tour. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We want to get a Scandanavian chair just like the one in the room. It doesn't look comfortable, but it was. The shower was large. We wish there'd been a bit more room around the sink because there wasn't much space to set a curling iron. The room was quiet even though it was near the elevator and stairwell. It made it convenient for getting luggage to the room, though. The best parts about the hotel were the pool, hot tub, and spa area and we absolutely loved the buffet breakfast in the morning. The breads in Denmark, and particularly those at Comwell Kellers, were to die for. They even had chocolate on the buffet. Also the Comwell Kellers is set in such a quiet country area away from it all. And the staff members were very helpful and friendly. If we ever travel to Denmark again, we will definitely stay in Comwell Kellers!

Very nice 4 (not really 5) star luxury hotel, especially if you can get a room with balcony facing the water! Large room, but a bit "empty" and without much inspriration, despite the (small) B&O TV. Unlimited number of Wifi connections was a plus (usually hotels limit you to max two computers/iPhones/iPads). Major precedented- mistake: whilst in our room, and just barely dressed, suddenly our room was opened by another guest who had been appointed the same room as ours.....(i.e. he had the key to our room). This was swiftly corrected, but such that later that evening we ourselves could not enter our room. Sincere apologies from the staff and for compensation they gave us a 200 Kr (around 35$) discount. Bathroom rather slippery. Excellent beds; poor airco. Restaurant served excellent food, but service does not match their ambitions (most were uninterested and unattentive, except for one waiter). Nevertheless, an excellent choice if your in this area.

Room Tip: room with balcony facing the water

Let me thank you for an honest review. Mistakes such as another guest has your room key are very rare, as the system has to be manually controlled to produce a similar key i.e. a human error. I apologize for the mistake. Happy that you have noted both negative and positive comments.

Thank you for the recommendation. Remember to prebook Spatreatments 2-3 weeks prior to arrival. I recommed and upgraded room to Sparoom on your next stay - quiet and close to Spa.
