“Captured audience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

Recently visited The Breakwater with my elderly parents as a treat following some shop browsing.Location great, decor good, seating average, pricing structure poor.
I do not mind paying over the odds for exceptional service, this really was not that good, the bar staff just went through the motion of pouring the drinks and made no attempt to engage in conversation.
30 dollars for three halfs of lager and a lemon, lime and bitters is a rather expensive round.

“That's some expensive lettuce!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013 via mobile

Ordered a watermelon salad for $25 and got a bowl of lettuce instead.! Complemented by a couple of pieces of watermelon, pine nuts and a pinch of fetta!! Someone else got a steak sandwich with chips...when it came out there was only 4 chips what the hell? Over rated, over priced!

“Beware the dress code rip off”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013 via mobile

We went as a family party for a few drinks and food in the evening, arriving at about 7pm. We were well dressed except one of our party was wearing casual shoes. No problems getting in, no mention made by the door staff about a post 8pm dress code or any issue with footwear. They happily took our cash for overpriced food and drinks, which took ages to arrive and then within an hour of our arrival and before we had even finished the meal and our drinks we were asked to leave-because one member of our party didn't have the right shoes! As a quiet family party this was highly offensive, poorly managed and quite simply terrible service.

“Groovy little bar but not very family friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013 via mobile

This is a groovy bar with lovely view over the water. It's full of young beautiful people but unfortunately for us it was not welcoming of our children who were told they had to leave by 8pm which was not enough time to eat. We had one overpriced drink and left for something a little more relaxed and friendly. If you are a beautiful single then this is the place for you, if you are a middle aged family person like me I suggest you try somewhere else

“Hip place to meet for a drink, take in the views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

Located in the heart of the marina complex it is a great place to meet on a warm summers day. Views over looking the harbour and marina, complimented by a good selection of beers, wines and finger food.

It is not the cheapest venue in the complex. The staff are friendly and efficient.
