“Clean and close to the airport without being too clinical!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

Really nice family hotel near to Billund airport. Stayed here on business so only saw the room at night but it was very clean and comfortable, a bit like a Premier Inn but with a much more family feel. It had a garden too which looked nice. The breakfast was excellent!

The hotel is about 10 minutes' drive from Billund Airport. The rooms are small but clean. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel is being renovated to a nice standard. A suggestion for the owners is a shuttle service to Airport and LEGOLAND would be helpful for those not wanting to drive.
The meals were of a very high standard as was the waiting staff. We are from New Zealand and were a little travel wary on arrival but found this place to be very relaxing. With no regular public transport using taxis will become very expensive but if you have your own transport I would highly recommend staying here.
Extra soap would be nice as I do not travel with soap as accommodation usually renews it each day at places I stay.

The hotel is about 10 minutes' drive from Billund Airport. The rooms are small but clean. Nicely designed, typical Danish hotel. The bathroom is small and difficult moving in, but nice and clean, no soap added every day.
We war in Legoland, the Filskov was the ideal place to stay if you do not want to spend much on the Legoland Hotel. Even car rental is cheaper than most hotels in Billund.

There is no public transportation, you can not count with. the taxi is very expensive, has a roundtrip cheaper if renting a car.

The breakfast is plentiful, there is an assortment Danish flavor. We had to wait a lot, because the buffet was filling very slow and cumbersome, as all of Denmark.
The staff is "cold" as the weather. The heating was very good.

Room Tip: All the same. no differnce.

My family, with our three young girls, stayed here for a single night at the end of our Danish holiday. We had previously stayed in a holiday home that was, to say the least, basic, and we were looking for a night of comfort before going to Legoland and then taking the ferry home to England. We found this place at the last minute on the internet and were attracted by the pricing and the fact it is so conveniently located.

This is essentially a traditional inn that is in the process of being thoughtfully and lovingly renovated with a contemporary twist. The aim seems to be to create a cool, upbeat place for families (presumably with Legoland in mind). The work was being carried out (quite sensitively) around us while we were there. This could have been annoying, but actually the cheerful and enthusiastic staff gave the place a good vibe, so we didn't mind.

The rooms were modern and well decorated, if somewhat spartan. They had been completely renovated and were clean and tidy. The beds were very comfortable.

We had a full dinner in the restaurant in the evening and it was excellent. The girls had just the kind of food they had missed from home, all perfectly prepared, while we had modern sophisticated, well cooked and seasonal fare. Highlights included a lovely pork belly and complimentary fresh bread. The breakfast was a bit more pared down, but still very tasty with some nice, thoughtful features such as locally sourced honey and freshly squeezed orange juice.

One particular highlight for families: there is a pool and playground that isn't advertised, and they have a play area indoors next to the restaurant where the kids could play while we enjoyed the proper grown up food. These features, together with the flexible menu and friendly staff, make this place a real winner for families.

A couple of minor comments to help the new owners: you should fix the gates by the pool so that children can be kept out - we were worried about leaving ours in the playground in case they went to the pool on their own. And I wanted tea at breakfast! I'm English!

I wish them all the best with this place, and hope one day to return.
