I would describe staying at the Olive Garden as like staying with a Turkish family except that there will be about 20-30 other guests. It is wonderfully natural place to stay set in an idyllic rural environment. There is nothing grand about the Olive Garden and the rooms could be described as spartan but comfortable; with one or two touches the rooms could be fine. The views from the balconies are fairly obscured by large pine trees but who would want to sit around in such a wonderful place?
The restaraunt is very casual but serves local and home grown products, meals can be obtained throughout the day. Breakfast is slightly disappointing as there is no fruit or yoghurt but there was always plenty of everything else. The evening meal was fresh and tasty using a wide range of fresh vegetables, seaweeds, herbs and spices.
There is no kind of nightlife in the area, in fact you have to travel about 30km, crossing mountains 1300m high, to buy a post card. Within 5 minutes walk there is a wonderful stony and gritty sand beach behind which lie a lovely range of small restaraunts all serving local fish, meat and vegetables.
This is not a hotel to stay at if you want a buzzy holiday but somewhere to go if you want to get way from people and the rush of everyday life. There can be few places that are so wonderfully peaceful that have not yet been ruined by tour companies and mega hotels.
