“Great house in great location”

We found this house using google and it turned out to be just what we wanted. The house was newly decorated if not refurbished, was spacious and comfortable, including a well equipped kitchen-dining area and a large sitting room. This last included a working inside shutter to the front window – the sort of thing that one sees but is not allowed to touch in stately homes – and a working fire. Not having had such a thing at home for many years, we appreciated this last, in what turned out to be a rather cold early March. We had almost been put off by the absence of parking, but this turned out to be a non-issue: there were town car parks within walking distance and one could, as it turned out, usually park across the road from the house outside of shop hours. Topsham itself was a splendid small town for a holiday. Lots of odd little alleys. Lots of interesting shops where one could buy, amongst other things, good bread and cheese. Extensive choice of potatoes. Lots of foodie pubs. Even some drinkie ones. A dock where one could peer at the restoration of a Thames barge, recently driven around from Essex. A wide estuary containing lots of two legged life. And easy access – via the local two carriage train – to the splendidly restored museum in Exeter.

Nice property on the Topsham high St near lots of great shops and activities including pubs, restaurants, the ferry, public swimming pool, public tennis court and take outs.
The house has a large balcony which is great for a BBQ, a good sized kitchen and two nice bedrooms. It was beautifully clean and well equiped. There are lots of activities for kids including the pool, tennis, beaches, boat trips and sailing.

“Comfortable, central and full of character”

Lots of space in the lounge and a good kitchen and dining arrangement for families. Nice bathroom and good laundry facilities. Very handy for the restaurants in Topsham and nice little shops. Noisy at night from people leaving pubs and restaurants but settled down quite quickly.
